Just be glad that you were there for him and that he is no longer suffering. In sympathy, Lam Ralph Has Gone Home Ralph Eugene Selleck who was diagnosed as having SDS/MSA in 1995 has gone to be with the Lord he serves and loved for all of his life. He was seventy years young. He just went to sleep at 6:00 P.M. on July 27, 2000. The funeral will be probably on Monday or Tuesday of next week. I will keep you posted. It can be heartbreaking for us caregivers, who often may feel we can never do enough (we can't effect a cure), but we can be there for the journey through the course of the disease, and you have done that. Having lost my prefcious Mike end of Sept this past year, I can tell you what a HUGE void you are going to have in your life. I think that particularly since we who are the caregivers spend so many hours with our loved ones when dealing with this disease, that the lose is bigger than big!!!!!! Having faith and loving our Lord, Jesus Christ is certainly the ONLY WAY to live with the loss. I will be thinking of you so very much throughout the next months ahead of you. There is a song by Squire Parsons " Look For Me At Jesus Feet " I heard that it was sung at a funeral where they sang Wait For Me At Jesus Feet.... That is where Ralph is waiting for you Barb.. You know the old song in the hymnal ......... Since it is on my work computer, I got off the list until this morning. In the meantime, I am lost as to what all has happened. If I misunderstood the last message, please forgive me. I hope I DID misunderstand, in fact. I am so sorry about Ralph. Did you say one time you had 51 years together? Your pain must be so heavy right now. You must have a million different kinds of thoughts going through your head just now. Do remember how good you were to him. Remember worrying about if he had enough batteries, your concern when he had to go to the nursing home, and a million other things - EVEN WHEN YOU WERE TOO TIRED TO MOVE. I do not have the answers but I do believe when it is all over, what matters most in life is who loved us and whom we loved. Sounds like there was a lot of it in your corner.
