OMG,Frannie! That really is upsetting to have to go through all

this. Prayer are being said for your son. That young and having to

get a hip replacement is terrible. Stupid hosptial staff. They can

never seem to get it together.

My son ,who is 8, got a pogo stick for christmas(along with helmet

and pads)from my brother. But son doesn't weigh much so he can't

even get it to bounce for him. Guess I'll have to keep it put up

after hearing this incident.

Prayers being said, Frannie! Please let us know how he is doing.

:)

Son in hospital.... Prayers

He, Jay, was on a pogo stick and fell off of it well when he fell he landed

on his hip really hard and it broke off the ball of the hip joint. He was air

lifted to Children's memorial Hospital in Chicago for emergency surgery.

It was really bad. But here is the worst part of it!!! We signed the consent

for him to have surgery before we got there and they didn't do it!!! They

only had 4-6 hours to perform the surgery or the bone would have been too

long without a blood supply, well they didn't do the surgery till 7.5 hours

after the accident!!!!!!!!!!! He was air lifted out at 4 hours, they told us

not to rush as he would be in surgery. So we went to take care of the other

kids, let the dog out and make some phone calls, trying to find ex to tell

him no luck. We got there a little after 7pm. They said we didn't sign the

consent so they didn't take him right away, what the heck! I told them to let

me see the forms, sure enough there was the consent and our cell phone to

call incase of emergency, DUH!!!!!!!! I am so mad right now I want to beat

the crap out of someone! This pretty much guarantees that the bone is dead

and he is going to need a complete hip replacement in 6 weeks. Right now they

have the bones pinned together and he is supposed to come home today but I

really am scared about that. The nurse who was on the life flight came to see

my son after the surgery at midnight because I was pitching a fit in the ER

when we got there and wanted to know what was the problem and when we told

him what had happened he was so mad he told me to sue the doc.

I just am in shock and any extra prayers you could send his way I sure would

appreciate. This is my guy who is just getting over a dog bite!!! Poor kid

can't catch a break at all.

Frannie,

Hon, I'm so sorry this happened to your son. Sending prayers for your

family. I agree with the nurse, sue the doc, it's his fault for not

checking the paperwork. That was his oversight. Good luck hon.

Hugs and love,

Frannie,

My son is also one who always catches the hard knocks of life. I

understand. I hope it all goes well. It is so amazing the ability

the body(esp of kids) has to heal itself. Mix it with the grace of

God and you can't lose. I will pray for all of you.

--I am so sorry!!!! will be praying for him....

I almost forwarded this to my ex but we call me ds-9 Jay, and I

thought he woould freeak...The step mother bought my Jay a scooter

for his b-day in april and he made her take it back because he could

get hurt on it then he turned around and bought him a pogo

stick...bear in mind that my Jay has not grown into his feet yet and

tends toward the klutzy side....

Gosh, I can't imagine having that happen hope your New Year brings

many blessings.....
