Hi all. Just thought I would share....

Last night while I was waiting for my management class to start I

overheard a fellow student discussing her daughter was having

surgery. I heard the word ectopic come up and I perked up. I was

distracted by the thought the entire class. After class I went to

talk to her. Indeed her daughter was having a lap done for an

ectopic last night. Her daughter lived out of state and she was

debating if she should fly out to see her. I was able to tell her my

experience and the emotional and physical pain I felt after my

surgery. I think it helped her decide to go see her daughter. She

was very touched by my sharing and I was so touched to be able to

help her understand a little more.

Just thought I would share.

Have a good day,

I haven't encountered ANYBODY who's even heard of Ectopic, so it is

frustrating when people ask me " where have you been " & " why were you in the

hospital. " Even more frustrating is the fact that when I do explain what a

ruptured E. is, the sympathy barometer points to tonsillectomy. Not that I

want pity, but I lost something I didn't even know I had, but wanted very

badly. Additionally, I almost died, and would have been leaving the most

wonderful 15 yr. old son all alone, unprepared.

After reading & s msgs re: ability to help someone,

I feel my frustration leveling off. I hope that I will be able to help

someone, too, someday. Your sharing has made me feel better. Thanks.

(can anybody tell me when the numbness [Novocain feeling] will go away from

my abdomen?)

That is awesome! You didn't have to go out of your comfort zone and

approach her. I know how hard it is to do that. And to think you helped to

bring a mom and daughter closer together. Did you give her the info about

the site to give her daughter?I just think that is awesome . Good for

you! Kim

I think it's awesome the way you were able to openly discuss your

experience to help someone else. I still have trouble opening up about

the ep to friends. There's nothing but good karma coming your way...

Do you think? I hope so! I know the holidays are going to be real

hard and some good karma would be great!

Thanks,

Dear Valywmn6585,

I am sure you have already helped someone. Just being part of this

group helps others every day! I still feel great about the other

night. I don't think anyone understands the pain of an ep unless

they have experienced one themselves.

I don't know about numbness...I don't remember feeling any numbness

just pain. Maybe you should call your dr? How long since your

surgery?

Take care,

That is great. I'm sure that heled her a lot with the way she was feeling

too cause she was probably having some emotional termoil on whether to go or

not to be with her daughter. Have a great day you little angel.
