Me too!

I've been finding it so hard to loose weight. I was diagnosed 3 years

ago and my A1C has gone from 7.8 to 6.4 (6.4 for the last 1.5 years)

so I'm doing something right. But, despite diet change and exercise,

not much in the weight-loss department.

Still, I am determinded.

Starting weight: 264

Current weight: 251

End of July goal: 248

Ultimate goal: 155

This sounds VERY reasonable to me...

I have also decided to play along.,..this makes it more encouraging,,,

easier to stick with it......

All time highest wt: 201 (off and on for last 5 years)

Wt at dx (1-29-03): 196

This AM's weight: 176

where I've been sitting for 6 weeks or more

Ultimate Goal weight: 150-160 (this will depend on how I look and

feel at 160...I am almost scrawny below 150...I'm 5 " 6 " , very larage

bone structure: 46 " shoulders with no fat on them to lose, 42 " rib

cage, ditto no fat...I carry it all in my abdomen...I have no hips to

speak of...size 9-10 double E width feet...big girl, no fanny !) :)

Goal wt loss for July: -3 or 4 pounds

(we'll be on vacation week of 21st...trying to be reasonable)

This is fun guys...much more fun than doing this by ourselves....

Someone earlier in this string mentioned a goal of losing 4 pounds

per week (if I read it right). That is a very difficult regime. You

may be able to do that for a few weeks, but the emotional toll of

keeping that up is huge. I'm looking for 1 to 1.5 lbs per week on a

very steady basis. It seems to be good for me. Each week I lose at

least something, and for some reason other weeks will have 3 or more

lbs off. I've probably lost about 40 lbs so far. I know I can

maintain this sort of schedule, but a rapid loss would be too

frustrating for me. The last thing I need with diabetes is to feel

incompetent at meeting my goals.

I wish everyone the very best in the weight loss arena. I'm trying

not to put a number on the pounds I want to weigh. I just want to

feel and look better. One reasonable goal for heavier men is to be

able to look down and see " Mr. Happy " again.

Thanks,

D

Hi ,

You did great. You lost 2 lbs and you are trying. In my book, this makes

you a " Winner " .
