Guest guest
HI Randy - I am new here, but I saw that you are in Utah, which is where I am. What city? I too take Morphine for my pain at night, and it also makes me sick. I am on Phenergan to counter that & it works well. Maybe ask your doc about that med? I hope you find what works - I am still in the beginning process of this. I will post an intro & tell my story On Fri, Nov 5, 2010 at 11:45 PM, Randy <rjgang10@...> wrote: > > > Hi all, Randy here, it has been a while sense my last post, but I > do > read your posts. Guest guest
Hi Randy. I'm so sorry that you're having to go through all of these changes and pain. Is there nothing your doctor can give you for the nausea/vomiting from the morphine? What other meds are you taking for your RA? It sounds like you are in a flare. Perhaps some prednisone will help to calm things down. There is one statement you made though, that really spoke loudly to me: " Who counsels the counselor? " . Then you speak of playing in your church band twice a week. Silly man, " Who counsels the counselor? " ?? GOD! Pray, Randy. God will guide you in the way you should go. Trust me, I've been in a similar boat. God guided me. I'm not totally pain free, but I'm not retching like you are either. I will pray that God will speak to your heart. May God counsel the counselor. You know only HE can do this. Keep your head up. Praise God for the little things, ask for help for the bigger things. All will work to HIS glory!!..... Doreen Hi all, Randy here, it has been a while sense my last post, but I do read your posts. We've had a lot of bad weather here. A few days of stormy weather then a few good days, but nothing steady. The barometric pressure constantly changing from one extreme to the next. My pain management Dr. has the government on him and they have suspended his license for prescribing meds pending the outcome of his trial. I have had to go to another Dr. that has changed my pain meds from percocet to all kinds of different kinds of meds that have not worked, and at the moment he has me on morphine which make me so nauseous, I am so tired of ralphing my guts out. I don't understand why he will not give me the meds that have been proven to work for me. The new pain management Dr is not a provider for my insurance so he is out of network, so I had to pay $225 for the first visit and $125 for each visit there after. He has been scheduling every 2 weeks until we find the meds that work, not to mention that most of the meds that he has given have been $90 or more for 2 weeks worth or make me sicker than a dog. I live in a small community and we don't have many pain management Dr's. and none of the GPs in the area will take the chance for fear of losing their license. In Utah the government has too much control in the medical practice. I am going broke and not getting any relief. I can't function and I am getting discouraged, depressed and disillusioned. How can I be a good counselor with all this going on in my life? I guess I am a bit down hearted right now, I am usually a very positive person but I guess that pain and nausea can bring even the best of us down. I am so sorry to vent on you like this but I feel like I just got to get this out or I'll explode. Who counsels the counselor?? Before the Dr. change my pain was somewhat under control, I was in pain but it was tolerable. Now my feet hurt so bad I can't hardly walk, my hands and fingers constantly hurt not to mention my neck and back and every joint. I do however have the pleasure of playing guitar in my church group which is the highlight of my day 2 times a week (Wed. and Sun.), it is painful but I enjoy playing and it does limber my fingers up a little, plus my son also plays the bass in the group and I enjoy the connection that gives us. I hope you have pain free days. ....Randy....
Guest guest
    Hi , Randy here, I live in Brigham City. Where in Utah do you live? Hopefully in northern Utah. I have Phenergan suppository's. What form of Phenergan do you have? does it work? I am going to the pain management Dr. @ 3:00 today, another $125. This state is crazy when it comes to pain management. I was thinking of starting a face to face support group. Might be able to help those who are newly diagnosed and those who have had this beast disease for a long time. Sometime the best way to help oneself is by helping others with the same affliction.                                         \                                         \                                               \                                         \             .....Randy..... ________________________________ From: Greenfield <razjon0322@...> Sent: Sat, November 6, 2010 9:04:32 AM Subject: Re: [ ] I am still here. Guest guest
     Hi Mimi, You are absolutely right and I do know this. Once in a while I get in these moods, like I said, most of the time I am a very positive person. I am getting a bit frustrated with my pain Dr. and the Utah medicine laws. I have been on a medicine that works and the Dr. puts me on stronger meds that make me sick because it is not on the list of the more abused meds. I counsel those who abuse drugs and I understand that with some people these meds are used for recreational use and usually get out of control and destroy lives. In Utah prescription drugs are the most abused, more so than the illegal ones. It is sad that those of us that have a legitimate need and don't abuse them have to pay for those who do. But I do have compassion for those who's life has been hijacked by drugs, if I didn't what kind of counselor would I be? I can't start resenting those that abuse these meds or it would render me ineffective as a counselor. Thanks for the reply, some times I need to be reminded of the obvious. I hope you are having a pain free day.  ......Randy.....
Guest guest
I just drove past Brigham City Monday on my way home from Idaho I live in Magna, just outside of SLC. I have Phen pills - they work great!! I would LOVE a f2f group - I have been looking all over, but have yet to find anything other than water aerobics classes....
