Recent positive experience with BBD Hi all, I wanted to let you know that I am on my 5th " good day " in a row, which is unusual for me to have so many good days in a row. These 5 days have come several weeks after being on the BBD (100%, no slips). In the past there have been several times that I have done BBD for a few weeks at a time and never thought it worked. However, in those past instances of trying the BBD, I would cheat here-and-there with a piece of bread or something with soy while thinking that a little wheat or soy here or there wouldn't make a difference. I would cheat maybe 2-3 times a week, which in my case may have been enough to sabotage it. Anyway, now that I am on the BBD 100% (thanks to the encouragement of other members, and one in particular), I really feel something positive is happening. This started to occur after I had been on the diet 100% about 10-14 days. Specifically for the past 5 days, I have more energy and my mental clarity is much better. (That is to say my fatigue and brain fog are reduced dramatically. ) Because of this, I also have a better sense of well being and feeling like myself again. The stiffness/squeezing /tightness feeling in my right arm and leg also seems to have lessened slightly, though I'm not sure that has gotten better. In terms of my other core symptoms--vision problems and bladder problems, and occasional numbness, there is no improvement so far. Overall, I am thrilled with the results and plan to continue indefinitely, as long as it is seeming to work as it is. I am eating about 50% raw and 50% cooked at this point. It will be a little more challenging when my boyfriend comes back from sea (out of the country), and he and his family (whom we eat with a lot) eat SAD. I am going to have to bring my own meals when his mother cooks, and hope they understand with an explanation. If they don't understand, tough. I'm not going to sabotage something that is FINALLY working for me. Anyway, I want to encourage anyone who has not tried the BBD or has tried it but not stuck to it 100% to give it another try. Guest guest
That's great news! For me I noticed the fatigue was first to go then physical symptoms diminished over time in the reverse order that they appeared..
Guest guest
Good for you, . Keep up the good work! You are living proof that the BBD is very important in treating MS, as I try to point out here: http://tinyurl.com/grpm9 All the best, Dudley Delany http://profiles.yahoo.com/dudley_delany
Guest guest
That is so good at last to get some positive signals. The BBD takes some getting used to then it isn't so difficult. A slip up here or there and you certainly know about it. I'd forgotten about good days and bad days. Now when I have a bad day, it is so unusual that I wonder why - just a reminder that MS is still there I suppose. I've been on it for a year and a half with no cheating until this week when I ate just a teeny, teeny bit of gluten in a restaurant. Since then I have felt down either from the gluten itself or from the disappointment in myself for being so stupid. Whichever, it isn't worth breaking the BBD. Well done, . And thanks for reminding me that it is worth it. Sounds like you are taking the same kind of course as I did, i.e. the fatigue and brain fog went first. I remember thinking that even if I didn't get rid of the rest of my symptoms it was worth it just to feel like myself again and have energy. Took several more weeks for rest of the stuff to go, only real problem still remaining is my vision. I know that it's residual damage that's not permanent, it must just be a lot more work for the body to repair so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hope you continue to get good results, keep us posted! Crystal
Guest guest
It's interesting because yesterday I looked at the Q & A section of the BBD on the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Center. They mentioned that brain fog and fatigue are the first symptoms to go away for most people- -and I had already noticed for several days (before reading that) that those were the symptoms that I was having great improvement in. On the Q & A section they slso say that other symptom improvements may take much longer and are not necessarily a direct result of the BBD but rather giving the body time to heal while on the BBD (at least that's how I interpreted it). Makes sense, if we aren't antagonizing our immune systems the body can focus more on repair work. Similar to how fasting works well for so many, giving the digestive system a rest so the body can direct attention elsewhere. When it comes down to it, I'm all about the results. lol I'm open to hearing whatever theories are out for why things work and the different paths people take for healing, but in the end I'm just glad it can be done! Guest guest
Congratulations! I too can attest that BBD definitely works. Though for me it did not work in a " linear " fashion if you will. Mening - my symptoms would still come and go, just their intensity would go down and down and down. Also, the slip ups - intentional and unintentional (who knew that all fruit smoothie in Jamba Juice would have something " illegal " ? Yet, lo and behold - " natural flavors " in their juice, which not really juice, but juice cocktail), but I digress. Very encouraging to hear! Thank you for sharing. > > Hi all, > > I wanted to let you know that I am on my 5th " good day " in a row, > which is unusual for me to have so many good days in a row. Guest guest
I continue to have the improvements with energy level and mental clarity--though it's not 100%. No other symptoms have improved. I hope they will with time, and I plan to continue BBD at the 100% level... Finding out I have this high sedrate thing was kind of a bummer, just as I was feeling a little better for the past week. Also, things are a little shaky right now with my boyfriend, which is scary as he is my main support, as I don't have any family (parents deceased, one estranged sibling) and just a few friends who all have kids and are very busy with their lives. Oh well. > > Congratulations! I too can attest that BBD definitely works. Though > for me it did not work in a " linear " fashion if you will.
