Hi Pam,

It's true the lupron shots don't hurt it may sting at first , but barely. To

me the gonal shots didn't hurt at all they feel the same as the lupron, only

the needle is longer that's it. , I just couldn't give them to myself,

because the needles were intimidating, my needles were 1 1/2 inches long. I

had to take IM shots, dh gave me all the IM shots. PRogestorone did not hurt

at all, it was also the same.. IT is thick and smells like olive oil. BUT, I

did have a lot of soreness after about a week later, But it doesn't hurt

going in. Just don't jump up and down, and let dh smack your bottom..

haha..I'm sure you'll be fine, just thought i'd add my little experience.

I am glad to hear to Lupron doesn't hurt. Luckily I will be on a low

dose Gonal F so I will only need one shot of Gonal F a day. The thing

that scares me the most is the progesterone shots. The nurse said its

thick like olive oil so it can be painful. She is going to check with

my dr to see if I can use the suppositories instead. I hope so!!

When I did the injections for IUI I had my dh do them. I couldn't put

the needle in even though it didn't hurt. I thought the meds stung

going in. I thought the HCG shot was very painful. Thats what is

making me so scared to do the progesterone shots.

I have been now having second thoughts about adoption. But in class

this morning they talked about the chance of multiples and said we

have a better chance of not getting pg than having multiples. So I

think for now I should continue on. So many things are running

through my mind right now.
