I keep on the Pancreatitis " loop " to learn more about the disease just in case it comes back. Since I had my gall bladder out near the end of April, I have been fortunate enough to not even experience the nagging heart burn, much less the horrible pain and vomiting I was living with daily. I feel very blessed in that regard.>> Hi Shari, I am glad that you are still with the Network. We need to hear positive results which continue to give all of us hope. You are very blessed. <<However, I do have IBS. Mine is chronic diarrhea as the only symptom. It is so debilitating. I can't make plans to do anything unless I make sure I don't eat all day long so that I have nothing to contribute to the sewer systems. >> Hi Shari, all, IBS seems as catastrophic as Pancreatitis. OUCH! It is the unpredictability that bothers me the most. << When I went to the ER last August, my lipase count was normal so the doctor said I had IBS and sent me home. IBS never manifested itself the way those pains did when I went to the ER. It took them 2 shots of morphine to even touch the pain and I couldn't stop vomiting...IBS? I think not. Why don't the doctors have a clue about the differences? Shari - Singing Pampered Chef Queen *Jesus Loves You* >> Hi Shari, all, I don't have a clue why the doctor's don't have a clue. I am frustrated at the nurses, as well. When I worked ER as a nurse, I was always allowed to give my input. It seems like someone within the ER facility should begin to see the difference. Panc. pain is so classic, so is IBS. Karyn
