Dearest Tami,

I've sent up a prayer for you for the Lord's Will to be done concerning your health and asked for strength for you and your family. I'm so sorry for your set back, however, I know how great the God we serve is and am believing for another miracle for you. Never do I tire of going to the Lord for others. You know that is what we as Christians are to do anyway. Pray for one another. In good and bad times. Not to mention praying for the lost. By the Grace of God, you'll have good news to report to us soon! And know we all love you and care for you Tami. You are a special young woman, who I believe, God has more for you to do :-) You are an inspiration to others who have had eating disorders and sickness in their lives. And even for those who haven't. I for one, don't think you job is done!! You keep holding God's Hand sis and just believe for another miracle. Trust Him Tami. You're His child and He's there for you, and so are we ;-)

God bless you and yours.

Very ill

Hi everyone,

I'm very sorry to have to say this, but I am unsure as to how long it will

be

before I am back on line. The past few weeks have seemed like a never

ending

bout of ups and downs. I thought I was winning the war in my battle for

health, but unfortunately I have taken a very deep turn for this worse.

Today, I suffered another heart attack. I was at home with my daughter who

is out of school, due to pink eye. She had the lifesaving peace of mind to

dial 911. The ambulance came and I was resuscitated. I spent most of the

day in the hospital, being released only a little over an hour ago, due to

my

personal physician being out of town, and returning tomorrow. First thing

in

the morning, I will be readmitted, under his care, in hopes that some of the

damage may be repaired. I have to tell you, that this is the worst physical

situation I have ever had to face, and I'm not afraid to admit that this

time

I am quite in fear of what this is going to mean in my ability to continue

to

carry any responsibilities as a member of my family, or otherwise.

Please keep my family and myself in your prayers, as this is a very

desperate

time for us. I am so very thankful for the past thoughts and prayers that

have been sent to the Lord on my behalf, and so I am coming to you in hopes

that you have not tired of carrying my name to the Lord Jesus Christ

Thank you all for your support and I look forward to the time when I will be

able to once again have the strength to correspond with you all.

Sincerely,

Tami

Tami,

It's mine turn to tell you a little story. When I was about ready to deliver my first child 12 years ago, my mom had a heart attack. She was in the hospital for about a week. They did angioplasty on her and she came home It took about 3 weeks for her to fully recover but she was fine. The day she came home, I went into labor and delivered a beautiful baby boy. In the last 12 years, she's had 2 more attacks. But each time she bounced back and currently is in full swing again. Grass does not grow under that women's feet.

You will bounce back too, just like my mom. We have faith in you and you have all of our additional prayers to get you through. Have faith in God and yourself, your family and all of us to get you through this latest crises. May God be with you and I pray for a speedy recovery.

Oh Dear Tami,

Rest assured that there will not be one minute of one day when the

Lord will not be hearing from one of us on your behalf! I have

only " known " you for a short time, but have experienced the grace of

your giving spirit. I am confident in your return to us. Until

then, rest in the knowledge that you are on our minds and in our

hearts at all times.

Tami,

You have my prayers also. Prayer is the least we can do when you have given so

much of yourself to help so many of us.

Hi Rashelle,

It is very unsettling not knowing what is going on with Tami. That is

so sweet and thoughtful of you to send an angel faith box with everyone's

name on a card. That sure is a lot of faith you will be sending her way!

It's frustrating that we can't do anything to take away some of her pain.

As you said, at least we can all band together and pray for her. Thank-you

for letting me know that you will give us

any news on Tami once you find out.

Love,

Abby

Hi Abby,

It has been a dark day for all of us since no one has heard from Tami all day. I tried to reach her by phone and was unable to find her. She did send me a personal email after she sent the one to the list, but beyond that I have heard nothing. I have felt somewhat paralyzed all day thinking of Tami suffering in any way. I guess all we can do is console each other and pray with all our hearts.

I am going to send her a gift tomorrow, one of the angel faith boxes that she has said she liked, and I will fill it with little card that will include the names of all of our list members.

I will try not to leave anyone out, suggested that it might make Tami feel better if she knows how much we all love her. I agree wholeheartedly.

Someone else asked to send her a special gift too. The outpouring of love is heartwarming, but nothing less than she deserves for all she gives to all of us.

Take care of yourself, Abby and know that as soon as I hear anything, I will let everyone know.

Love,

Rashelle

Hi Tawny...    I hope you start feeling better.  I don't know if low Vit. D

levels can cause You to be Weak, etc. -- or not.  I don't know if my doc has

checked my Vit. D level - or not.  I

have to go back to Doc this week, so I need to ask her about this.  My sister

told me that

her Vit. D. was a little low; i don't know if her doc gave her Vit. D to take?

I'm thinking about You and again, i hope you Soon -start feeling better.

I've been very weak and cannot do much housework.  It's hard for me to even

pre-pare light meals.  Fortunately - i'm not in much pain, but I stay so weak!

But I am bi-polar + have R.A. -

plus lately my doc put me on thyroid med and statin drug.  My thyroid was a

little low--my doc told me; it's now normal, but I'm afraid my doc will have me

to keep taking the thyroid med and it's making me very fidgety and it's so hard

to Fall asleep; I'll lie there for several hours -before I can quit Thinking

--long enough to fall asleep.  Also, it's my understanding that  one side effect

of my cholesterol med (simvastin) --  can be Depression (I think - i read) -

anyway - I'm very weak; lost lots of sleep last week -THEN SLEPT most of the

weekend!   I took only half of the 10 mg. tablet of the simvastin (cholesterol

med) that my

Doc prescribed and in only 2 months - my Total cholesterol level AND my bad

cholesterol (LDL) CAME down to Normal, fortunately.  But my good cholesterol

(HDL) IS STILL only about 36! (SAME AS before taking the cholesterol med)

--and i think it's supposed to be 40 or perhaps 50 !   So I hope to get to

feeling better and MAKE myself -get out and start Walking, as that might help to

raise my good cholesterol. My Doc told me THIS + I read it.

Have a good week!  Email me anytime!  and again --I sure hope you will

feel better SOON!   (I've had R.A.  several years;  took the MTX (IS that the

abbreviation for the:

mexthrexate (mispelled); i only took the MTX  for 7 weeks - bout 6 yrs. ago.  I

quit going to the rheumatologist because of  a possible lung problem ( pulmonary

fibrosis) - which might have been a wrong diagnois by a former doc - but the

former doc nor his staff - had-never even told me, but then it was in my

records, when I obtained my records FOR  the Rheumatologist.  My oxygen level

has been 94 and 95 past 2 years, so hopefully I don't have the pulmonary

fibrosis, but perhaps I need to see a Lung Specialist --to make sure I

don't have it --in case I have to go back to a Rheumatoligist and in case I have

to take

the mtx or enbrel or other similiar meds, as I don't think I can take Enbrel if

i Do have

pulmonary fibrosis. (I'm not sure if I can take the MTX   either ? -- -( should

I have pulmonary fibrosis); i need to research THAT again.

Thanks for letting me vent!  (ps. about the pulmonary fibrosis: My doc

made me an

appointment about 2 yrs. ago - with Lung Specialist - but I cancelled the

appointment and intended to re-schedule that appointment ---but just never got

around to re-scheduling it.

My cousin died, last year of  pulmonary fibrosis.  (  I read somewhere that

SOMETIMES -the only way for Lung specialist to find out if a person has

pulmonary fibrosis --is to

run SOMETHING down our throat and into lung (I think is how i read it); anyway

since my

oxygen level seems to be pretty good -the past few years - I've been just hoping

that  THE

REPORT IN MY FILES, WHICH mentioned it --could have been another patient's

diagnosis;

--because that Doc never told me I had pulmonary fibrosis and therefore had

never treated me for it!  (I'm not sure if my name was at the top of that Paper

that contained THAT info,

or not? -  and that same PAPER (transcription from Doc to his Typist) - also

stated that my heart - size, was Upper limits of normal, yet my Present Doc's -

told me since then  that

my heart did not look to be enlarged on X -ray, which my doc showed me, ON the

X-ray. also, - so all of that put together - is what made me wonder if  THAT

transcription/ paper was Meant to have been another Patient's diagnosis-- but

Perhaps it got Filed in Wrong file/folder/    Perhaps I still need to see a Lung

Specialist, to rule out Pulmonary Fibrosis, for reasons I stated above (in case

my R.A. becomes Worse and I have to take certain meds for it!)

I did not intend to write a book here,  so sorry.   Oh, one more

thing, if I might mention it.  When I was seeing the Rheumatolgist, bout 6 yrs.

ago -- he sent me to my local hospital to get Chest X-ray, yet he had already

started me on the MTX; and upon my next TWO  visits - he still had Not received

my CHEST  X-ray results!  ;  That's when I just quit going to see him (my

Rheumatolgist) --- as I was having Transportation problems (hard to get Someone

to Drive me to the Rheumatolgist (about 1 + hours drive from my home.). ;

Again, I'm so sorry that this is soooooooo  long!   AND I sure hope

hope your Head-ache has gone away by now.      Judy in GA.

Hi RA family,

Once again, I'm fighting with my health. My pain levels have went down, my

rheumy gave me a steroid shot at my last visit, a few weeks ago. However, I'm

having some other issue. I'm going to my GP doctor, will get some lab work

done, then I will see the doctor.

I've had a vitamin d deficieny for a very long time now, and the rheumy has

prescribed a vit d soft gel,(1.25), weekly.

My rheumy's nurse called, to let me know the lab work showed, its even lower,

the last visit. I will need to double my dose, the next time I see my rheumy,

which will be in June. She is going to take x-rays and a bone density test.

I'm just wondering if this is why I'm feeling so bad.

I've been so weak, I can't do much of anything. I've also had a light headache

all weekend. I will let you all know, when I do find out something.

Does anyone get sick from being low on vitamin D?

Thanks for listening, and hope to jump back on here soon,

Tawny

Hi Tawny - I googled " symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency " and " what causes Vitamin

D deficiency " . From what I read, alot of what you're feeling is associated with

this deficiency (aching bones, muscle discomfort, headaches, dizzy spells,

fatigue, etc.). It was also interesting to read that " Ulcer medications,

steroids, corticosteroids like cortisone and hydrocortisone, cholesterol

lowering drugs, barbiturates, sleeping pills, mineral-oil-based laxatives can

all lead to vitamin " D " deficiency " . One thing that was recommended was " If you

take vitamin supplements, be sure to take them an hour or two apart from

medications. It will give your body time to absorb the vitamins better. "

I hope you are able to get to the bottom of all of this and start feeling better

soon. As always, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.....Doreen :)

I hope you and your physicians can figure out what's going on and that

you'll be feeling better soon.

Tawny,

I am so sorry that you are not feeling well. I am sure that your doctors

monitoring the situation closely will hopefully get this issue resolves ASAP!

I was diagnosed with a Vitamin D deficiency last February and did prescription

Vitamin D for a couple months. I was very fortunate that my Vit D level did

rebound and I no longer hav to take prescription Vit D. When I did have the

deficiency, I had pain deep into my muscles. I was also newly diagnosed with RA

and trying to get it all under control was a pain in the @ss.

Are they checking things other than your Vit D level? By any chance are you a

gastric bypass patient?

For whatever it is worth, my doc has me take 1000 IU of vitamin D each day. I

seem to feel better since I started taking it.

Hope that info is helpful.
