Guest guest
Hi Nan, Sev has been through so much! I wish I had known about this group when we tried the diet 2 1/2 yrs ago. As far as an experienced keto team goes I'm not sure how Medical City rates. When I was talking to Mallorie's neuro about her previous experience on the diet he said she should of been started on a lower ratio and that she should of been on Carnitor for the lethargy. I have only had contact with one person who started the diet there and her daughter did not tolerate it well and was taken off after 8 months. I am going to talk to her soon to find out more about their experience. I am glad the VNS is helping Sev. It is crazy that the medications can make kids worse and the doctors just don't seem to understand it. In my opinion if the meds don't work at controlling seizures and they make the child feel bad or make them to where they just can't function or enjoy life why keep them on it. I don't want Mallorie to have seizures and the Tonic Clonics are so frightening, if a medication worked for her I would weigh the pros and cons but so far none have worked and there have only been cons. Take care and thank you for your help! (Mallorie's mom 3 1/2 yrs)
