Guest guest
Most of the EMS folks in our state are not on this list and have never heard of EMSAT. I would have not heard about it if it was not for this list. I am sending in my dues.
Guest guest
I agree with Jane about people taking the time to fill out this poll. She has put forth this effort in an attempt to more formally assess potential member needs, which in turn will statistically justify programs within EMSAT. On the other hand, if 33 responses out of a potential 1,200 (.0275%) is any indication, it raises the bigger question of people's belief in the need for a state-wide EMS association in Texas, regardless of member benefits. Guest guest
I know this is a stupid question in light of the response to the last poll, but what about a poll to explore the rasons why people are NOT involved in EMSAT? Perhaps then, we can work towards a resolution or at least a public relations push to see what can be done. Just my honest one. Guest guest
First, I appreciate your support on the survey, Bob. I need all the help I can g4et. LOL Unfortunately, MANY EMS providers are on none of these lists. I am not sure how to poll those without a humongous mail-out that no one can afford. Any ideas? Guest guest
Sounds interesting. Please e-mail me privately, Mike, and let me know what questions you feel should be asked? This is the input I need so that I can change the poll around to get various tidbits of information that can improve EMSAT and what it does and what it offers. Guest guest
That is the purpose of this poll - to see if there is a large enough need to be able to provide a big enough group to keep rates down. If it doesn't look like the group will be large enough, then it makes no sense to proceed. But if the group WANTING this benefit is large enough as indicated by the ratio of respondents to the poll, then it would be a worthwhile project to review further. So thanks for responding. Guest guest
If EMSAT is a 501©(3) and not a 501©(6), you could ask Perkins to include a flyer with an issue of the Texas EMS magazine. My guess is that EMSAT is a 501©(6) non-profit because it does, or intends to do political lobbying - which would thwart this idea. EMSAT needs a cash cow or sugar daddy, who can spring for these kind of direct costs in exchange for a subordinated note from EMSAT. I don't know anyone who fits that bill.
