BTW, your comment re the valium is typical of me - halfheartedly reached for

's oral diazepam a few times lately - resisted so far!!!

It will be stressful when you start probably, but if you go in knowing that, you

might cope better. Some don't have a problem at all, you guys might be lucky.

Knowing yourself you're doing this for your kiddie will help you through, even

if she doesn't realise this. Yes, it's hard when you don't know wht the outcome

will be, but I was surprisingly positive, knew this was probably one of 's

last chances at seizure control, wouldn't entertain the thought it wouldn't

work. Could have set myself up for a bad fall, and it was probably unrealistic

going in with that attitude, but we all deal with things like this differently I

suppose.

Our hospital had a play specialist set to entertain , videos, toys etc to

take his mind off food, but he was so ketotic he wasn't hungry anyway. He did

the vomiting thing, but honestly, the food he got at the hospital was enough to

make me want to puke. Knowing what I do now, this wouldn't have been an issue.

They brought him in a tiny hard ball of boiled potato, swimming in melted butter

(with that pukish hot butter smell), and a tiny tough bit of beef. never

was a meat and veggie kid, so this was a double insult to him, ended up mixing

oil into his jelly and getting him to eat that. Again, knowing what we do now,

wouldn't have let him have the jelly (with art sweetner) either.

They start with one third meals so the fatty content isn't too much of a shock

to the system, if I had my time again, would have frozen some eggnog and given

him ice cream initially instead.

That's our experience, live and learn!

BTW, is THE pickiest eater, if we can get him to eat the meals, anyone

can! Had sausages and cheese with 'milkshakes' initially at home, fave foods to

keep him keen, since eliminated these trying to 'finetune' away the night

seizures and help him thru' the med weans He is now dairy free, and eats grilled

chicken every meal, wouldn't touch 'decent' meats before the diet.....
