Guest guest
Anyone have any information concerning cost recover for counties that do not bill for ems or getting ready to, this is to cover a large area, and it is a new area for me. Thanks Ashby CMRS American Medical, Billing and Compliance Mgr -- AFD/AMR > > Hello to everyone in this world of EMS. I have read some of the comments regarding AMR and AFD and wanted to clear up some of the " rumors " . AFD and AMR are partners in our local EMS system, committed to providing the highest quality of pre-hospital care within the funding limitations imposed by our elected officials. While AMR did have some difficulty meeting their contractual response times early in the contract, major changes have occured in their local management team and " posting plan " . Early problems were anticipated as a new contractor adjusted to the Arlington market with its unique set of system demands. AMR has been SOLIDLY meeting their contractual requirements for the past several months. As the Medical Operations Battalion Chief for AFD, I can state that AFD management is very satisfied with AMR's current level of service. For those who would want to believe that the City would want to get rid of AMR I would like to pose the following question; With an anticipated $6 million shortfall in the current budget year and a $10 million shortfall projected for the next budget year (03-04), why would the City want to take over the ambulance service at an increased cost of several million dollars that we obviously don't have, especially when the service now takes ZERO tax dollars to fund its operation and is serving the transport demands of our city well? The Arlington Fire Dept. and AMR enjoy a close, professional " parnership " for providing ems service to our visitors and citizens. I can assure you, if we were dissatisfied with the service provided by AMR, they (AMR) would be the FIRST to know ( our management team members communicate often and openly) I invite and strongly encourage any of you who hear these " rumors " of discontent to contact me personally for the facts. My name is Stapp, B.C. Medical Operations Arlington Fire Dept. and I can be reached in my office at .Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to address these " rumors " and share in your discussions. Be safe out there./
