Guest guest
Hello All, Our daughter Miranda is now 4 years and 3 months. She weighs about 37 lbs. The problem we are now facing is she is to big for the stroller. I am also tired of the look we get from people when she is in it. She is to big. She can walk but has no stamina to do it for any period of time. ( mall, park, ect) She is also Gtube fed so when she is on her pump, its even harder for her. I simply cannot carry this child around any more. So our problem is now, where to go next. I don't want to use a wheelchair and would like to know what alternatives there are. My husband is very distressed by having to do this and thinks we should just stick with the stroller and hope she outgrows her need for it. I just don't know where to go. At this point she is not yet diagnosed so I don't know if this would matter or not as to whether or not the insurance would pay for this. She is in the process of being tested through Dr Cohen. We did get her skin results back and they were normal. She is suspected to have complex 1 and I understand this would not show up in skin anyway. We are in the process of scheduling a muscle biopsy. I asked Dr Cohens nurse if she felt there was a strong enough mito suspicion to put her through the muscle biopsy and she said Dr Cohen always feels confident its mito, or he would not proceeed with it. So I guess we will press on. Thank you all for listening and your suggestions. I appreciate all your help and insite.
