Guest guest
Hi Barb; I just wanted to let you know, I've had the same thoughts. I love to eat...Japanese, Cinese, Mexican, Thai...you name it. I ahve often wondered how I'll be after the surgey. In addition to my attitude and possible personalty changes. Anyway...just wanted to let you know you're not alone in these fears. Guest guest
I want to add my two cents to this statement that yes you can throw-up. You reach a certain point once you start to eat and yes, that one bite too many can cause you to throw up. It is a matter of relearning how to eat. You learn how your body responds to food. When to eat, what to eat, how well to chew and yes, how much to eat is very important. I was bulimic prior to surgery and since then have not had the urges to want to eat. For me, it was starting all new and retraining my brain and body about eating. You have to learn there is a difference between physical and psychological eating. This is very important. Hope it helps.
Guest guest
Barb, Had my surgery 3/31/99. Not sorry, even for one nanosecond. Rarely I wish I could eat more than I can hold. But that is only with my absolute favorite foods. However, it didn't take me but the first time of overeating to realize how incredibly uncomfortable that feels. Food is just not worth it! Life is so much more fun now, and so full of other activities, that food is, for the first time that I can remember, just a means to stay alive. I was a compulsive overeater as well. Now, instead of eating 2-3 cheeseburgers on Saturday afternoon, I eat 1/4 - 1/3 of 1! And I do not miss the rest! If you start eating slowly, chew your food really well, and TAKE YOUR TIME with meals, you will have no problem. How can you miss the food, when you are full! The problem with me was that I never felt full! Take Care and Good Luck,
Guest guest
Barb Hi, I am only 6 days post-op and don't really have one complaint. Once you have the surgery you will see that food is not important at all. As for throwing up , you will not be able to throw up. You won't be able to eat enough to throw up. Foodaholic or not it just won't happen. Guest guest
Moshel I did not mean to put bad information out there. That's why it's best to read everything on the website (clos.net) and to talk with Dr. Rutledge personally. He can tell you anything that you want and need to know. I guess maybe my statement was made based on my own personal experience. Once again im sorry for giving you the wrong information. Guest guest
You are so encouraging to me and I am sure to others. You described just what I am going through right now. I am awaiting an answer from BCBS. Should hear within the next couple of days and I have a knot in my stomach. I could call them but I am afraid to as I am afraid of the answer. I was declined by my old insurance. Everyone please keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks. SunniAngel@... wrote: > From: SunniAngel@... > > Barb, > Had my surgery 3/31/99.
