In my opinion, it's the best thing since sliced bread. I've had no side effects

at

all and my itching is completely gone. However, I think that I'm on the " lucky "

side of the spectrum.

Rifampin worked great for me for years and I couldn't identify any

side effects other than the orange urine. (I went up to 300mg

2x/day.) Everyone seems to be a bit different.

For naltrexone, I now take 50mg 2x/day and have gone up to 3x/day. I

don't experience any side effects at the current dose, but for the

first 3 weeks or so at the lower dose of 1x/day, I felt dizzy and

nauseous. If I take it for more than 3 days at the 3 doses per day

rate I get insomnia for the next several nights, even after I drop

back down. All a juggling act.

So -- what about combinations of these various drugs? When I started

naltrexone, I was told I needed to stop the rifampin. However, I

took naltrexone with questran for a while (boy, coordinating with

the URSO doses was a pain). What other combinations are possible?

Can those the only marginally respond to rifampin also take atarax?

What kind of drug is Naltrexone?

Rifampin is an antibiotic. What I find facinating is that no one knows why it

works (when it does). Which means that no one understands why we itch.

Hmmm.

Atarax is an antihitimine and in my case it did alevaite the itching some but

completely wiped me out for 24 hours.
