" I just got a 7 day free sample.

Am taking 75mg twice a day

I think it is helping however the info says it can take

up to 7 days to kick in

I am praying it works "

Hello ,

I also hope it gives you relief.

If I may,did you get sample from your physician?

To your knowlege,is this sponsored by Pfizer on a local

or a regional scale?

Any information you have greatly appreciated !

The Pfizer reps are sampling 50mg and 75mg patient samples to physicians offices. You can also get coupon vouchers from the physicians that receive the samples. If you are interested it would be best to see if a Pfizer rep has had him sign for Lyrica, if not, the physician can call their local Pfizer rep and request samples be brought to the office.neve1776 wrote:

I too am on my 7 day free trial of 50mg 3 times a day and then go to 100mg 3 times a day in 3 days, it is amazing how well it works, I have been quite pleased with the results.

Hi ,,,

hmmmm, well as far as my other meds I take them when needed. Usually taking the flexeril at bedtime. The Vicodin ES I have been able to lay off of somewhat, not taking it like I was having too, which this is what I find amazing. I read upon Lyrica, as when I got the seven day free trial filled my pharmacy had no info to give cause it is so new is what I was told cause I asked for info and they said they had none. He didn't even put those wonderful little yellow labels on the bottle, the (warning labels),,,, which concerned me. I was amazed though when I started it last week how well it has worked. I did some reading on it though and found it quite interesting that we are being prescribed this since it has no mention of being used for what we suffer from.

I am glad it's working but still alittle skitish you could say.

Hello

I just wanted to follow up by saying that I have been on Lyrica for almost 2 months. It had decreased my pain, decreased my fatigue and assists with my sleep. I do NOT even need to take anything at night. I take one 150mg in the AM when I wake and then the other 150mg after lunch to give me that extra boost in the afternoon to help me get through the rest of my day. It had been FANTASTIC !!!!! I LOVE THIS DRUG ! I am finally getting my life back that I thought I lost.

I absolutely LOVE my rheumatologist. He has always focused on my sleep as a #1 priority to make sure I am getting my stage 4 sleep (restorative sleep). After the sleep was addressed, then he focused on the fatigue and pain. He wanted to target one thing at a time with SLEEP being the most important.

I just came home from my follow up visit with him today and he is so impressed with the dramatic improvement I have made with the Lyrica and is so happy that I do not need to take a sleep aid any longer and have been able to decrease my pain meds drastically.

Just my 2 cents on my TREMENDOUS SUCESS with VIVA LA LYRICA !!!!!

I'm still working with my doctor to fine tune the medications but I wanted to share my experience with Lyrica. Its actually a seizure med but both Lyrica and Gabitril both increase slow wave sleep. Hope this helps some people. Also my mom has apparently had some good luck with provigil to help with fatigue and fibrofog. Unfortunately it interferes with hormonal birth control. I'd like to also share that I've been working with a psychiatrist who is specializing in chronic pain and

fibromyalgia. I had very bad luck with the rheumatologist I saw. The psychiatrist I've been seeing has told me that fibromyalgia should not be in the realm of rheumatology. He feels that they've got it all wrong and I agree. My experience was that the rheumatologist just wanted to give me pain medication and dididn't want to deal with the sleep or take the time to answer my questions. I hope this helps people. Keshet

Oh I forgot the only bad thing about Lyrica.............

Weight gain, I gained 8 pounds since being on Lyrica

I know others who have gained weight as well, BUT the benefits from Lyrica far outweigh the weight gain. I just need to work now on losing the excess weight.

Soooooo the game plan is once I get settled being back to work and getting caught up with everything, I guess I have to get my fat ass to the gym !!!!

75mg twice daily is an extremely low dose. The clinical trials of Lyrica for Fibro showed the best improvement was obtained at 450mg a day. Like I stated, I am taking 300mg a day and doing EXTREMELY well but others may need to go higher to see the results I am seeing.

You definitely need to increase your dose.

You have headaches too? How long have you had them? How bad? Also how long

have you been sick? I ask because I have found that fibro is a common

complaint among Chiari patients though of course the idiot powers that be

won't recognize the link yet. I had been vomiting from migraines 2-3 times a

there for my mya and be on the pain meds. i couldnt keep up with her and it

was killing me.

i had one script for the oxy and that was when i was preggers over 2 yrs

ago. know one new what the heck was wrong with me. i had to be on vicodine

after 3 months- my doc was so afriad of my pain and stress levels.

i had one pill and it might sound funny but it scared the crap outta me- i

couldnt remeber how to pee. then i flushed them down.

i have been on many serize meds- for fibro and my headachs. they cause me a

lot of memory loss. i couldnt remeber my phone number or who i talked with

Hi. I'm new and have a question. I wondered if this new med. you are

all discussing is like gabapentin/neurontin. ? It

sounds the same type

of thing. I tried that one and it made me feel

weird but didnt help.

Some say it does wonders. Its also a seizure drug

now used for nerve

pain. The only thing that helps me with fibro pain

is oxycodone.

Thanks. -Rae-

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.

2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.

3. To unsubscribe the e-mail is: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group-unsubscribe

4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor.

5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our support.

Have a nice day everyone.

Hi,

I've been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I am on Lyrica and

Nortriptyline. Is anyone else out there on this medication for Fibromyalgia? If

so can you tell me if you have been having weight gain?

Thanks!
