Guest guest
What did you think of the Vietnam Wall Memorial? TJ & I knew far too many men whose names were listed there. TJ served in Vietnam for 15 months – we didn’t expect a “plain & simple” black wall to be so moving. Seeing so many names….well, you can’t see it and not come away thinking….. When we lived in Indiana the museum there had a special exhibit on the holocaust, they had a person stationed outside asking parents if they were sure they wanted their children to see the exhibit (lots of photos). We thought (and still do) it should have been mandatory! Before the showing ended I took my Girl Scout troop to see it. But you know me – crazy – I even took my troop to the county jail and had them all sit in a cell and get finger printed. No way could anyone do that today – what a shame so many lessons to be learned. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
