Would you be able to get a new one that looks the same as the old one before he gets home??? Tina W.
Guest guest
> PS I think a lie might be in order here. LOVES Zot. I don't want to ruin that. < yes, i agree lying is best. at the very least, he would never trust zot again. i guess i would just simply say that the fish was sick and died. Guest guest
I second this proposal. Or you might end up like we did when the goldfish died. He ended up being replaced by a hamster! Guest guest
Oh darn! Can you convince him the fish has gone visiting? :-/ > > > Uh...this may be bad advice, but I'd probably go out while he's at > > school and get another one just like it...how good is at > > identifying fish? > > > I considered that! Guest guest
I think I would just explain it to him. That way he could learn about death. You had mentioned his not really understanding death. This way the fish being killed can be a valueable lesson. But that is only if you think he could handle it. Better to tell him with the fish than with someone he loves alot like the cat. Also he may be more kindful of any future fish. Guest guest
I think I'd tell him you have some bad news. Then say something about the fish jumping out of the bowl and dying. I'm assuming the fish was being eaten on the floor or the table, so it's not exactly a lie, right? If you plan on replacing it, tell him you'll put a screen on it to protect the next one....(we just won't mention specifically what it is you're protecting the fish from ;c) Sue
Guest guest
> Then say something about the fish jumping out of the bowl and dying < aha! that's the best idea so far! i was a little concerned about saying it was sick cause then he might associate being sick with dying and that wouldn't be good :-/ " Something important to remember...we'll always be who we are.
