Your letter from your physician and psych should basically be letters of

support for you. Your letter from you PCP should state that he has been

your PCP for X number of months or years and that he is aware of your

problem with obesity . It should also state ALL of the problems that

Obesity has caused for you. Examples would be High blood pressure,

diabetes, reflux, joint problems, sleep apnea, back pain and shortness of

breath. I am sure that your doctor has a detailed description of all the

problems that you have had since being in his or her care. Your PCP should

also include any and all medications prescribed for weight loss. To sum up

your letter your doc should state that he/she will continue to support you

after your surgery. Follow up is very important ! . Dr. Rutledge will need

to be able to track your success so that he will be able to pass this

information on to others in the months and years to come. Your

psychologist should do the evaluation and state in the letter that he will

a source of support in case you have any problems with depression which

will most likely occur because of the rapid amount of weight loss. You will

most likely experience some hormonal imbalance and will need the help of

your psychologist or therapist after surgery. I can't think of anymore to

tell you on that deal. If you have anymore questions it would be best to

call and speak with Dr. Rutledge personally. You could email him and make

it urgent and he will answer you right away.

Daphne and

I believe that this is question that might be best answered by Dr.

Rutledge. He knows his own procedure better than anyone. As post-ops we

don't have anything to compare our surgery to so any information that we

could give you at this point would be from a one sided perspective. I will

tell you that I am plesed that I found out about laproscopic bypass

surgery. I just had my surgery on Oct 4th and was out of the hospital on

Wednesday Oct 6th which was 2 full days. I came through the surgery without

any complications at all and today I feel just great. Saturday when I went

in to see Dr. Rutledge I was weighed and lost 10 lbs. You know there is

more to this surgery than you know. Many doctors perform the surgery

but, each procedure is different. As I stated before Dr. R will be glad to

consult with you and answer any and all of your questions. The best thing

to do is to go to his website and read everything on there before calling

him. I promise that many if not all of your questions will be answered from

the data that he has provided. If you have more questions just write them

down and be prepared to discuss them with him. In the meantime just go to

the website (www.clos.net) and read as much as possible then just send him

email or give him a call. It may take a little while but, I promise that

you will get a reply.
