Guest guest
well, I don't know about San Diego, but I had a problem getting my sleep apnea test also and I was in Vallejo. I was told by the sleep center person that it would take six months just to get a date for it. But while at a support group meeting, a Kaiser employee in the group said I should go to member services in the Vallejo Kaiser, and tell them that this is holding up my surgery. I did and, I had an apointment a week after. Hope this helps! Good Luck! Dawn > Has anyone had trouble getting an appt. for the sleep apnea test? Guest guest
You might try calling. You may also see if there's an earlier date in ez or Walnut Creek and then ask for him to be put on a waiting list. I called for an appointment last July, got one in October and then was bumped up to August because of a cancellation. My husband went in for his initial exam in April and when we left the nurse took all the info to get him the appt. for the sleep apnea test and no one has called. They did say be patient but heck how patient does one have to be? Maybe I'll just call and find out. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else. By the way he is seen at Kaiser Antioch. ThanksIf he doesn't take the test and he is scheduled to go to San Diego for the consult will they send him back because he didn't get the test done? Guest guest
Ramona, thanks for the info on the sleep apnea. I called today and the lady said they had no record of my husbands referal for the s.a. test. so I forwarded a message to his dr. asking about it and this afternoon I got a call saying he sent the referalhimself. His nurse was suppose to do it the day we were there in April. I heard the dr. tell her to set it up. I wonder what happened. My husband probably doesn't need it to get the surgery . We are just concerned that once we get over to P.B. and the dr. sees that he was suppose to have it done and didn't that he might send him home and make him wait for it and that is the last thing we want. So thanks again for the info. Where did you call , you mentioned ears, nose and throat. Is that where the sleep apnea test is done? The lady I talked to said she couldn't find a number of where it is done. She checked Vallejo, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton and ez. Where do you suggest I check to see if they have him on the list? Thanks again Sissy

Guest guest
Sissy, When I went to pick up the oxiometer It was in that dept. I am not sure if it was separate from that department but it was in the nose ear and throat at my local hospital. I hope that you hear back from the doctors office soon. the first one that was sent did get lost somehow but now I think they do it by computer.
