Guest guest
Hmmm, sounds like he needs first grade materials and possible second. He's one smart little fella there. With that amount of intelligence my guess is that his language skills will progress also and who knows what he will accomplish. Keep us posted. Good luck. Guest guest
Sissi - Seems to me they've answered your question. Academics is obviously NOT a problem for him. Sounds to me like Speech and possibly Social Skills (?) should be the focus.... ? Penny
Guest guest
Thats great! And thats hard. Alec never seems to master his IEP and Greggory always had several written a year. I dont know where I would start though. Maybe just work on his social skills and let him keep doing the regular school work even though he is getting through it quickly. That would mean more time for social interaction. But I really have no clue what I would do. Good luck. He's getting speech three times a week at school. OT twice a week. We're also starting a new private speech therapist soon. They aren't going to give him enough speech to fill a school day and the other kids do have to get their work done. :\ I should be really thrilled, but I swear, it's stressfull as hell. Willit harm him to hold him back? Does he need to be held back? If we teach at his pace, he'll graduate by the time he's seven. I can't keep up with this kid. Now I guess the teachers can't either. I'm thinking bumping him up a few grades might be challenging for him. He's always been around older kids. He's never really cared about kids his own age. Guest guest
Jacquie, Several IEPs a year? Was this to add goals? This sounds like what I need to hear about.
