Guest guest
OK guys I know this is not actually EMS related but this is what I do for the other half of my life is girls fastpitch softball. As you can see one of the DFW girls is seriously ill, at this moment she is at Dallas Children's but going to Houston for a marrow transplant but these are the ways we can all help her. She is only 10 and has Leukemia. Sorry not to be on topic but with all of us around Texas and all the blood banks we alone could make a difference. BloodCare will have a mobile unit (bus) at the Maegan Reynaert USSSA tournament in Garland. The tournament is February 14-16, and the Bloodcare bus will be there on Saturday, February 15th. PLEASE consider donating blood on behalf of Maegan. It is a great way to help, while showing support for Maegan and her family as they try to cope with the effects of Leukemia on a 10 year old girl. You do not have to match Meagan's blood type. All blood types are needed, and the credits go toward the Reynaert's account. Also, if you can, please promote this blood drive in any way possible (word of mouth, web pages, email, etc.). Anyone medically eligible can donate (even if their kids don't play in the tournament). This will truly help the Reynaerts. One additional way to help Maegan Reynaert and her family is to donate blood for her. She is needing a lot of units of blood and platelets, and donating on her behalf helps her family both emotionally, and financially. It is relatively easy to donate for her. Just go to any BloodCare and ask that you " Donate your Credits " to Meagan, and supply the below patient information: Maegan L. Reynart Medical City Dallas Hospital Patient ID # 708173478 Reynaert (Father) If you are at all eligible to donate blood, it would help greatly. You do not have to match her blood type. Maegan will receive one credit for each unit of whole blood, 2 credits for a double red donation, and 2 credits for double platelets. You get a free cookie for donating. For your nearest BloodCare, check the phone book, or go to www.carterbloodcare.org Thanks for letting Maegan know how much she matters to all of us. Thanks for listening and I know our Men and Women will respond to a child in need! K. EMT-B
Guest guest
- If she is coming to Houston, can we donate here locally? I teach high school Health Profession Classes and we are always looking for community service projects. Sam
