Guest guest
Hi , My doctor gave me some misoprostol prior to an HSG. (They had tried to do a sonohistogram but were unable to get in past my cervix - that doctor assumed severe ashermans. My OB, trying to give me some hope scheduled an HSG and prescribed some of the misoprostol to soften the cervix so hopefully they could get in). I was a little freaked reading about the drugs as well (the pharmacist asked if I was having an abortion). Anyways the drugs seemed to work - they were able to do the HSG and the actual procedure was a lot less painful than the attemped sonohistogram. I did have cramping - slight cramping prior to the procedure and strong cramping after for about 10 hours but other than that no side effects (I also took lots of advil that day) and I have had a period since the HSG. My OB said for the hysteroscopy I will probably need to tave the misoprostol again. Hope this helps.
