You might want to revisit that issue. Eventhough as a nurse I have read many reports, I don't think they leave a cath. in the superior vena cava. I could be wrong and I probably am but if it were me I would recheck that with the cardiologist. Thanks for the post on your post transplant progress. You deserve some peace of mind after the rocky road you travelled to get to the relative health you have now. Take care and let us know what you find out about the catheter. Cheryl Berg, Idaho 45Married 25 years, 4 children, 2 grchildrenPSC 01, UC 00, Fibromyalgia, hypothyroid,hiatal hernia, ulcer, gall baldder removed '93disability (retired English teacher) Operation Left Overs I went in for my first yearly physical on December 2,/03 following transplant December 2/02. I had the normal tests.. blood work, x-rays, bone density, ultra sounds, etc. The transplant doctors reviewed the results and said everything looked fine except I needed to start taking calcium supplements. "Right jugular catheter is seen with its tip in the superior vena cava." Do any of you know if this should be a concern......... My only restriction is from the scar tissue associated with the larger than life incision as you might recall............. I also have some difficulty at times swallowing from the trach and scaring.... Ron McPherson Alive and doing quite well.....
