With respect to UC and PSC, it's the other way around (mostly). A

relatively small percentage of UC patients develop PSC. Based on our

members that have stated their conditions, 160 of 190 or so have UC; 29 )of

190) have Crohns. The Crohns and Colitis Foundation states 5% of UC

patients, and 1% of Crohns patients develop PSC. A very small percentage of

our members have neither.

UC is not an infection of the large bowel (although that can happen), but a

chronic inflammation, sometimes deteriorating into ulcers that bleed. It

can sometimes get severe enough to require total colectomy.

http://www.ccfa.org/research/info/ is a great resource for both UC and

Crohns (yes, they do talk about PSC).

Some people with PSC have or seem to attract Ulcerative Colitis. I was put

on Prednisone and now 6-MP to relieve myself of the fevers and weight loss.

I would ask if it is possible to have this additional disease and try to get

control of it. It is an infection to the Large Intestine which if serious

enough will cause fevers. I was diagnosed of both diseases by my GI

doctor...
