When the Respiratory guy was here the other day, I asked him directly what I could do because the humidifier bottles were freezing up. He did not mention heated bottles. I think they are so lazy that they won't tell you anything for fear of having to help you out. The district manager was also here. I will call them tomorrow.

If you get one, get me the manufacturer and model #. Make sure it is high flow.

What would I do without you?

Joyce,

The heated humidifiers are not for the intent of helping the freezing up of the regular humidifier. What is does is warm the oxygen gases going into your lungs and thus help thin and loosen the mucuous. My pulmonologist called yesterday and when whe found out I did not have ny heated ones as yet, then she called Apria's district manager. I expect them to come tomorrow when they come to refilll the three tanks. I need all the mucous to be thin so that it does not clog up my trach catheter. So...anyway, when I get it...you will get all the information and I think the district manager will probably call me today, Feldman, as she usually does when she gets a call from Cigna etc., and I will tell her about your dilemma. Maybe she knows the district manager in Indiana. Never know. I will try.

The ones I found online were similar in that they weren't for the

purpose Joyce needs but I think could still help on it. I'm very anxious

to know the brand and model you get and how it attachs or stands

or whatever it does. When Joyce brought this up it just seemed logical

we could get heated humidificatio and now we find out that it is

possible. Your work and experience is going to be of value to so many as

I imagine it would benefit almost all of us when we reach the high

levels of oxygen flow.

Just a note to continue the stupidness of Apria.

Got a call last night about 8:00 that they were on the way to my house for a delivery. Wanted to confirm my address. Anyway, my husband asked them what they were bringing. Was told a Nebulizer and a humidifier bottle top. Now isnt that something! I dont need either. They said they had orders from Corporate to bring it to me NOW> Well, after much discussion, talked them out of bringing them and told them I was supposed to be getting a heated humidifier bottle for my liquid tanks. And that was over a week ago. Well....the driver appeard to know nothing but insisted he bring what he was told to bring. Today, I get a call from Apria stating they would be here at 1:30, along with a respiratory therapist, and show me how to work the heated humidifier bottles I received yesterday. Explained it all again. Now, I just got a call that someone will be here at noon to deliver the humidifier bottles and make sure we know how to use them but they wont come unless my husbandis here too,so someone else knows what to do with them. So, he is coming home from work. They said they cant pick up what was delivered yesterday because it was a directive from corporate that I be given these items. (I have never used a nebulizer in my life...I called my dr to see if I am supposed to have one and she said NO) I Bet Cigna gets charged with the items anyway. Just wanted to rant on and on about them. This is such a strange company. Now, we will see if I really get the humidifiers. I feel I will.

Hope everyone is doing as well as they can.

Well, we can only hope. Miracles do sometimes happen even against Apria

odds. I ran into that where even given the brand and model number they

would order a completely wrong product.

Meanwhile we're all anxious to find out what humidifier you get and how

it does, especially Joyce.

And of course we know you're not smart enough to operate it or to teach

your husband when he gets home. I think you and Joyce have them scared

now to face you without someone to pull you off them before you attack

them. If only they realized how little energy you have to attack.

Oh, by the way, I also have a nebulizer from my Apria days (well, may

have thrown it away now) that I never used and no one could figure out

why I got it.

They'll show up and see no cannula in your nose and say, well you're not

even using your oxygen.

...oh how I know about Apria. Here is Oregon they have bad reports at the BBB and I have yet to hear anyone who likes them. I quit them last year because of so many glitches and problems. I'm on Lincare now and so far so good.

I hope you get the humidifier you want and need.

Apria is rated " Unsatisfactory " and " F " by the two BBB's in their home

area.

Joyce and others:

Still researching and will continue but here's what I was just told by

one knowledgeable person. The Heated Humidifier is normal for someone

with the trach to clear some of the mucus. However, to use one in your

situation, Joyce, or in general from a tank through a cannula to your

nose there is a lot of moisture build up in the line and it can be very

problematic. In fact, some people even use ice in their humidifiers if

they're having condensation problems to get rid of it. Now, this is

just one man's comment and I'm still researching, but the fear is that

coming from your garage and heating it would cause condensation

problems. In fact, there is some surprise you aren't already having

them with your regular humidifier.

and Bruce,

Perhaps you guys got the nebulizer that I ordered 3 weeks ago and never recieved. My saga is so confusing right now, it is difficult to recount. I don't know how these people stay in business. What a calamity.
