If I eat chips, I have loose stools the next morning. Fritos are my fav but

I avoid them like the plague. I get my salt cravings from popcorn. :) No

dumping there....and I eat regular old-fashioned popped in oil on the stove

with no problem.

Vicki--

Just came back from seeing the gastro and he said pretty much the same thing.

Everything looks so good inside that he wants to watch me for a while

longer. All the labs came out the best they've been in more than 2 years.

So, we're adopting the re-education approach for right now. Anything that

keeps me out of the hospital is ok with me...I'll keep heeding the expert

advice from you all in the meantime.

El, I'm 6 months out from my revision and I can easily eat what you had for

breakfast. For lunch I'll have 1/2 sandwich, couple WOW chips and a piece

of fruit.

What I'm worried about is my protein drink.I usually have it before work,

and by the time I add icecubes and berries to it, teas. pudding powder etc

it makes about 30 oz of a pretty thick shake that I can consume in about

1/2 hour...easily...does this sound right?? the other EL

El,

If it's what I used to eat......the Polamer All-Fruit, it uses " concentrated

fruit juices " and I have trouble with the fructose in them. Thank God that

Smucker's finally came out with a jelly/jam that has Nutrasweet in it, that I

can

eat. I don't know why I have problems with the fructose, but I do.

I haven't had the " cold sweats " or rolling around in the bed with the dumping

EVER in my 7-1/2 years, but I do get the " volcano " in the belly and diarrhea

follows very soon afterwards.

Yesterday, I ate:

designer protein w/banana made with MILK

sonic burger with top bun removed & 4 onion rings

a cookie

2 ounces pistachios

1 grilled chicken breast with some oriental-type topping

1 cup black rice

1/4 cup Brussels sprouts

1-2 ounces cheese

1/2 cup ICE CREAM

I find I can eat about 2 1/2 cups for a meal, but I chew everything to

smithereens. I usually don't eat ice cream and throw the carton out after

I've had my bi-weekly fix. Usually, I'll have a bowl of cream of wheat for

my last snack. Just your typical low-cat diet. ;-)

I have trouble with Frutose and Sorbitol. I found out the hard way with

" sugar-free " cookies. Gives me steatorea (how do you spell that?...I spell it

slushy BMs).

Bob--

Does your fructose intolerance mean that you are unable to eat fresh fruit as

well? I also die with the ingestion of Sorbitol, clear the way to the john,

please!!!

Generally I don't eat fruit because of the carb levels. Most of my diet is

protein and fat and not carbs. I eat about 40 - 60 grams of carbs a day. I

munched on a few grapes yesterday I got the steatorea effect big time.

Coupled with the amount of fat I eat...WOW!

Thanks Bob A for that WONDERFUL reminder of the definition of steatorea!

LOL!!!!! This must be the reaction that I'm getting from Equal sweetener,

since it's not exactly diarrhea, but alot better than the *god-awful*

constipation...

NOW talking about getting graphic! ROFL
