I'm too old for climbing, but love to walk, hike and backpack. I also think my size (6'4 " ~300#) would be a determent to climbing. I live in the frozen tundra of St Minnesota, USA. I've been following this group for a couple of months. I am a member of a Christian community here, and since we have no insurance, have been looking for an affordable solution to my three years of limping around. I was seriously considering UK until , and then Richie convinced me that Koen De Smet was the surgeon that I wanted, Des has confirmed this decision. Yes my wife of 40 years is coming with me. She has a great deal of apprehension. She has never been off the N American Continent, and except for her union with me is not the adventurous type. I'm hoping that will write to her and encourage her. She will be staying hospital. Verne
Guest guest
Verne, My wife, Frances, is going to stay in the hospital too. There are rooms set aside for patient's partners. Do not be alarmed. Apart from Belgium having dragons, trolls, rampaging werewolves, and deranged vampires - oh dear. It's British humour. We just can't stop this. Make allowances please. I'll start again. The country is civilised, neat and comparatively small scale. Many people speak English. When asked if they speak English, they say, with a quiet smaile, " A little. " Do not be deceived. They speak quite a lot. Nearbye Brussels has an enchanting town square, really enchanting, and is easily reachable by train. All the best, Chris.
