Guest guest Posted July 30, 2003 Report Share Posted July 30, 2003 Hi Becky. well ur surgery date is one day past my 65th birthday and I am 17 years postop as of this past June so when I give thanks for the additional years God gave me on this earth thanks to my WLS, I will say a special prayer for your successful outcome with yours. Where bouts are u in MS? I have some friends there, one in Biloxi and one in Ecru. I heard the hospital in Memphis is very good so u should have excellent care there. U will do just fine so keep ur mind occupied with other things. Worry solves nothing so think bout the good things that will be part of your new postop life. I am 17 years postop this past June and have never regredited having surgery as it got rid of my diabetes which was main reason I had wls. they have made a lot of improvements in the RNY since I had my open rny. mainly improvements in nutrition which I have had problems with anemia for lot of years but still no regrets. I take all my supplements and even with them have some anemia probs. MD's had me on PROCRIT for few months now which has been a miracle drug for me. dont think any current era wls patients have the same probs that I had from the malabsorbtion syndrome created by my bypass. I'm scheduled for 8/6 at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. I am so surprised that I'm not nervous or scared. I'm just so busy trying to get everything in order at home and work.
