Guest guest
Thanks, . This 8 1/2 - 9B appreciates the guidance and counsel born of experience. I guess they build 'em up from the bottom. My left one is the shorter side, too, and I've been left with the same degree of difference. I applaud you for your innovative coping. I'm still mystified as to how and why we're left with a longer leg post-op when the rap on resurfacing is that it's supposed to carry a lower risk of discrepancies than THRs. My surgeon said " It was not my intention to make the leg longer. " I have a hunch he lowered my pelvic floor as the p.t. says my femurs are the same length and the difference is in the pelvis. Did you get a satisfactory explanation as to why you got a longer leg? Were you measured pre-op? Leg length equivalency was a concern of mine pre-op and my surgeon dismissed my worries, saying, " I promise I won't make the leg any longer, " so I feel pretty ambushed. He now says the difference can be addressed when the left hip goes bad, but if he didn't control for this variable when the first one is done, how do we know they can intentionally add length in a subsequent surgery? Is this avoidable or not? Have a great holiday, and I hope you have a lot of fun on your feet in the coming palindromic year! All the best, Sheila
