Guest guest
Hello everyone, During the Christmas Holiday, My family and I traveled to Pennsylvania. It was a magical Christmas with it snowing on Christmas Eve night and having 12 inches of snow by morning. On my return to Texas, we decided to make a stop in Roanoke, VA at the To The Rescue Museum. They haven't moved into the downtown fire station yet. They are still located at the Mall south of town. They have lots of exhibits to see and listen to. From actual 911 calls to sitting in a rescue truck as it pretends to drive through busy streets of a town on the way to a Motor Vehicle Accident. My children really enjoyed it. I was impressed by the Tree of Life. Each leaf represents a EMS worker who died in the line of duty. There is a book of pictures and stories about each leaf. I took several hours reading through the book. I also got to meet the Caretaker of the museum. She is a wonderful woman who is devoted to making the museum a place everyone will love to be at. She brought out a flag from the WTC that she will be sealing up to put in a new display about 9-11 at the downtown fire station. They also have a wall of EMS patches. Sad to say she only had about 10 from Texas. But anyway, If you happen to be in the Roanoke,VA area , It is worth the trip to go to the Museum. Happy New Year!!!!
