Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Well my letter has at least gotten some action. I got a letter from the DOT the other day saying they'd pass on my letter to America West. Well, I did that already! Anyway, they said they'd investigate it and get back with me. They went on to say that I'd receive no monetary award from them, blah, blah, blah. I don't want that, just a change in the way the airline does business. Today I got a call from America West from a person in one of the offices where I cc'd the letter. She said she handles disability related complaints. She was very nice and of course apologized for all the misinformation. She told me she couldn't find out where exactly it stated that my son couldn't use the vent during take off and landings. She said she had a similar complaint last week, but until now hadn't had this kind of thing come up. Her and some others were investigating everything. I had to send them more information including the letter I got from Pulmonetic Systems saying their vent passed certain tests. She said I would hear from them but it might take a bit longer than the 30 days required by law. I said I was pleased to see action taking place now. When I get the final results, I will let everyone know. Thanks again to all those who wrote with information, stories and advice!
