Give me a break! ******************************************* Same kind of thinking that enacted the " Patriot Act " on the public. That thing is a travesty of justice. It's been used more times on the American public than " terrorists. " Common sense is dead.
Guest guest
It's another example of " Homeland Security " making sure we're all protected. They've been very busy keeping terrorists out of the country. The world renowned terrorist Cat s was sent packing back to London (I'm sure the Brits loved that one... send the terrorist to Heathrow!) after only making it to Maine (a few weeks after a meeting at the White House). A couple of weeks later, that cagey Tiger Woods and his new wife were caught trying to dock their mega-yatch in Puerto Rico without first having filed the proper entry papers. They were only allowed to dock long enough to refuel, and then sent on their way. You just don't know what kind of weapon of mass destruction could be hidden in a golf bag! In the meantime, a 6'7 " Saudi is running around Afghanistan and Pakistan dragging a dialysis machine, and he can't be found! Four more years, my a**....... (and to keep my political commentary somewhat related to 9-1-1 ) At least at our department, the insanity is still the same old stuff that's always been going on, and not this new " Homeland Security " nonsense. So far, anyway. <knock on wood> Jim in suddenly cold and overcast Central California 911:: Brick Wall Thinking > > Last week, NYC Mayor Bloomberg wanted to go to the NY Jets football game at > the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. Guest guest
I bet we all have our Homeland Security stories to tell.. Mine centers around a recently completed $800,000 parking lot project that was undertaken to keep bomb laden vehicles away from our building by putting the parking spaces further from the building. I guess it never occurred to those in the know that a terrorist may not respect parking laws in favor of the jihad. Then they put an earthen burm in front of our building that is open on both ends (which is more than enough room to drive a vehicle through). When I asked them what was to prevent a bomb laden vehicle from approaching the other three sides of our building, I was met with head scratches and blank stares. It only hung there for 5 years. No one knows >where we're at now.... >mkatt From time-to-time they used to do that with the CIA exit sign on the Washington Parkway in VA to fool the Soviets.
