Guest guest
That's a shame. It's sad but not overly surprising. You wrote a damn good post, and you made a good argument re: a poll on mandatory meeting attendance. The quotes were excellent too, and I also appreciated the link to Peele's website. Guest guest
Dear Tommy Your letter from Chien is intimidating. I'm not clear who the guy is (sounds Chinese from here) or quite what the body he leads is or does in relation to your situation. Sounds Chinese from here. No disprespect intended to either the US military or the Chinese nation, but it must be very bothersome for you. Checked out your site and see you're still getting more visitors than me! Best of luck, Yours . ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Do I understand you right? You were dumped from a general forum that welcomes veterans and active military solely because of your stance on AA? Or was it a military alcoholism forum? --- Kayleigh Zz zZ |\ z _,,,---,,_ /,`.-'`' _ ;-;;,_ |,4- ) )-,_..;\ ( `'-' '---''(_/--' `-'\_) >I got a quick, short answer from Rod: > > " Nope " > > >------------------------------------------------------------------------ >Win an iMac computer from The Apples in stereo and other >FREE great stuff at RollingStone.com! >http://click./1/4023/2/_/4324/_/958153579/ >------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Before you buy. Guest guest
I'm really impressed by the 'new leader.' He believes that Supreme Court decisions of the past protecting slavery and other abridgements of basic human rights have the same moral and legal status as current decisions protecting freedom (which actually is consistent, in a way, with the AA principle that Freedom Is Slavery.) Not only that, but he is suggesting that since the SC sometimes reverses a precedent (or is overruled by Constitutional Amendment) that therefore other branches of the government can and should just ignore it! Guest guest
Kayleigh, The forum is on the about.com site and the title is " U.S. Military. " I posted my web site there which started the thread about alcoholism treatment/forced AA. I got into somewhat of a shouting match with the forum guide, and he iced me. I suppose I tend to windmill my way into these fights. I just don't have that " float like a butterfly and sting like a bee " style that Rita, Bob and a few others have. Guest guest
Wally, At this point nothing amazes me anymore. Sometimes I really laugh out loud when I read such nonsense. But actually it's sad, because many people are being severely harmed in the name of " help. " Tommy > I'm really impressed by the 'new leader.' Guest guest
Tommy: You are not the problem. The problem is that, when you speak the truth, it endangers the fragile reality of people who have been brainwashed to believe they'd be dead if it weren't for AA. I can't think about that very much or it makes me unspeakably sad. On the other hand, it makes me very hopeful to read about people like you who rejected that brainwashing. Your writing is passionate and intelligent, and it would be a shame for you to keep quiet just because you got kicked off of one forum. I really believe that if we just keep talking, writing, posting, we are making a difference. Guest guest
Judith, Thank you for your encouragement. The truth of the matter is that I did get out of line. The whole thing just escalated into a brawl. I have considered apologizing and going back to the forum, because the guide said that I could do that, but I really get frustrated when I deal with liars. Now the guide claims to have called a military treatment official who advised him that religious objections to AA are honored. If that is true I have a feeling that this is something very recent now that the military has been brought into the debate. The truth of the matter is that it is unconstitutional for the government to even suggest someone attend AA, because that is promoting religion. Government AA treatment in general, even without coercion, is also unconstitutional for the same reason. , is this new to you? Guest guest
Tommy, how do you feel about psychology students who use and anorectic and bulimic support egroup for research and treat the most desperate ones with kindness while labelling those who challenge them (me & others) as " Borderline Personality Disordered " and therefore dismissing them (me) and censoring their posts? Guest guest
Hi Tommy: This is totally new to me. I'll believe it when It's confirmed that just one Sailor or Marine has been able to pull themselves out of XA based on religious objection. A question that comes immediately to mind is: How many people, in that situation would actually complain. Most would keep their mouths shut hoping to salvage their career's. Even if it were true, which I doubt, having an option you know no one will use is the same as not having that option. Re: Re: Iced Judith, Thank you for your encouragement.
