Guest guest
That's just AWESOME!!!! How long has she been without the milk? ellen More progress....amazing! We started working in some gluten-free products to see if Annmarie likes anything. She will eat the brown rice bread (barf!) with soy margarine and cinnamon/sugar (which I don't think she can have on the diet....anyone know?). Last night we read a book about going to bed and she kissed the character in the book goodnight with prompting. She has never put a kiss " on " anyone before. She kisses the air. This morning with prompting she kissed me!!!! She has never kissed me before. So it wasn't spontaneous, it was a KISS! She would only kiss my cheek once, but kissed my shirt several times. Then she had had enough. It was a great start and I am thrilled! We swear it is the milk. It has to be. She still has a looooong way to go, but we haven't seen this much progress in her development since she was a baby. We are very pleased. mom to Annmarie (4 1/2, blind from rop, autistic-like) and Flory (10, NT)

Guest guest
- , I think that is so wonderful.Kissing seems so hard for ASD kids. I think its really amazing that she likes barf-bread as well ( I agree, it really sucks). Its healthy, but, Im a big taste person. I think soy margarine is okay, because its usually not made with milk products. I am a big believer in food bringing miracles or disasters. Guest guest
How absolutely wonderful for you!! was 10 before he started kissing, and that happened after he was started on meds. Up till then, we would get the top of his head for us to kiss even! I think is having dairy problems too. He has suddenly been on a milk kick. Lot's of cold cereal where he drinks all the milk after each bowl and drinking milk with his meals. Now all of a sudden he's having stomach aches. Not sick stomachs, but crampy and hurting. is allergic to the protein in dairy, and it appears I am also, so I have an idea that is having trouble with it too. He's also having difficulties having bowel movements lately too. Time to cut back again! Sue

Guest guest
She seems to like it toasted with cinnamon/sugar on it. The blasted stuff almost set my toaster on fire, though! Set off the smoke alarm twice. I'm scared to try it again. All I need is monster baby and a burned down house. :-/ mom to Annmarie (4 1/2, blind, autistic-like) and Flory (10, NT) > > We started working in some gluten-free products to see if Annmarie > > likes anything. Guest guest
It can't hurt to " run out of milk " for a few days and see if you notice any improvement. I could kick myself for not figuring this out sooner. Annmarie did better on soy formula as a baby. Cried constantly on regular formula. All the problems started around the time she switched to cows milk and table food. Including reflux and chronic constipation. Should have known! Should have known! I'm going through an anger phase right now. Please bear with me! mad at herself, mad at her pediatrician, mad at her EI team at her previous school system, mad, mad, MAD > How absolutely wonderful for you!! was 10 before he started kissing, > and that happened after he was started on meds.
