Guest guest
> I don't get it. Why bother being focused on them? It will make you crazy. Its like having a bad lover and getting up each morning and kissing his picture. Be active, study new things. Forget them, enjoy yourself and be free of it. Since I'm the only one who wrote about this convention, I assume this is directed at me. The convention and hotel strike are front page news here. It's not even remotely stalking. It's my perspective. I don't need to recover from having my own perspective. Judith
Guest guest
sometimes it is good to know the enemy. collect documentation, make files, get duplicates, maybe even put some in plastic (eg. some Nazi paraphenalia is valuable today). maybe blanket the parking lot with simple fliers with something like a list of us court cases and synopses adjudicating AA a religion - or a simple but beguiling statement like " Apply the Serenity Prayer to your elbow joint " Bob says " Hey great conference, Joe, hey look what's under my windshield wiper - it says " Apply the serenity prayer to your elbow joint " hey that's great. um, Wait a minute, I don't quite get it. Do you Joe? Hmnmm. It spells out ASPTEJ - good bumper sticker, huh.? " Joe says, " I know from the past my elbow joint was often out of my control. So, yeah, its cool. " " God, meetings, and I being your sponsor, Bob, control your elbow for you when it gets close to alcohol. I like it. " " But wait, Joe, don't you think that's going a little too far? " " Nope, really sums it up. " Bob mutters " Hmm, I dunno about all this. " Re: stalking the 12 step convention > > > I don't get it. Why bother being focused on them? It will make you > crazy. Guest guest
Hotel and restaurant workers--you know, service sector, they make pretty lousy wages. A piece about the strike emphasized how it brought together a cross section of people, including the most recent immigrants from places like Somalia. The AA conference is the biggest ever to come to MN, something like 50,000 people. Tall ships on the Misssissippi would be beautiful indeed. I saw one in Lake Superior once, it was incredible. Guest guest
Great, hope the steppers have to make their own beds and eat peanut butter sandwiches. Hope the strikers get their raises too. > > > > I don't get it. Why bother being focused on them? It will make > > you > > > crazy. Guest guest
Lane -- it would make a great new cartoon series " The Recoverees -- an everyday story of people with elbows " . You've certainly made a good start on the script, . ps -- this suggestion is my intellectual property and entitles me to 5% on all fortunes made from the series.
