2 embryos transferred

Well today I had 2 embryos transferred. I was told to take a pg test on

24/12/01, however if I get a period on the 22nd December, which is when they

are due, then I can assume that the IVF failed. The Dr was confident that

one embryo will take, but he thinks the other one may not because one of the

embryo's had divided by 5 cells which anything between 4 and 8 is normal and

the other embryo had divided by 4 cells only. (anything less than 4 they

will not transfer).

It is going to be a tough two weeks, but I'm sure that if I am pregnant I

will have some symptoms by then. However I have two more injections of the

HSG to keep that lining nice and thick and that may imitate the symptoms of

pregnancy too. Until I have the blood test and it shows high levels of BETA

(I think that is what it is called)then I won't jump up and down until then.

And as I said before, all the clinics and pathologies are closed for a week

starting the 24th December. What good timing. I have had a positive attitude

since commencing IVF and everything went right on schedule. So now I will

calculate that by early September there will be a baby or two in the house.

(I HOPE)- so much for that positive attitude!!!

Well I am very scared that this will not work out, my hormones have been

through the mill, a cyclone and a twister and to add insult to injury I just

might get a period for Christmas instead of a positive pg test.

Sorry to rave on here. I've gone from proclaiming a positive outlook to a

crisis and now I am crying my eyes out. Talk later.
