I have not much >> Diane, sometimes I get very tired and especially very weak. But a couple of years ago I had a severe pain in my pancreas and I was traveling for the holidays. I became so tired I couldn't move. My mind wouldn't function properly. I couldn't carry on a simple conversation just because I was so tired. Good thing my husband was driving at that time. I haven't driven since that experience. When I felt this pain it seemed to come from my pancreas and radiate up into my left side under my ribcage. A few days later I realized that I had better go to the doctor because I was sleeping all the time and if I even sat down in a chair I would fall asleep. The doctor did some blood test and the test came back positive for the fatigue syndrome. I was weak and so tired from that for six months. I don't know if this has any bearing on what you are feeling but I thought I should tell you. Please remember that my sick pancreas makes me feel tired and very weak as well. Cat scan showed fibrous tissue in my left lung. I have never smoked and my right lung is fine. Another one of those mysteries with a sick pancreas. I often have several days of profound fatigue just before a flare-up of pancreatitis. Not all the time, just maybe 75% of the time. jang --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Before you buy.

Insights anyone? >> Hi Diane, The fatigue can be caused from both depression and just down right fatigue. Ass you mentioned one can feed into another. My experience has been that my Pancreatitis can put me down for days or weeks at a time. One way I tell the difference is whether I am able or willing to have company. Usually if I am beginning to feel like self-isolating then I know the depression is kicking in. However, if I am purely just exhausted then I know that eventually I will become more depressed if I don't make some attempt to communicate with the outside world. I usually call my church and ask to be put on the visiting list, and that helps. Karyn

Insights anyone? >> Hi Diane, You are definately not alone on the tiredness issue. There are usually some days where I just feel like I can't get up and then when I do I can't seem to accomplish much but making it to the couch. It probably does have some to do with not eating. Now I sound like a mother hen but you need to eat young lady! Do you feel like you are on the verge of a flare up when you get real tired like this? Usually after a few days or so my discomfort slowly turns to pain and then I think, " oh no, here we go " but luckily it subsides. I hope that you feel better soon! Hugs to you,

Besides the pain, I can't make plans because I may be to exhausted to do anything inside the house, much less go out anywhere. Just call me couch potatoe. I don't fight it. I think I am getting a handle on it, however. I now know that I can only do one activity a day. I usually need to take the next take off completely to rest up. I don't like it, but understanding the needs of my body, helps me to work with my body and not against it. Overall I am more productive than trying to fight this disease.
