Maybe that way it would be easier to hide. Michele
Guest guest
I had absolutely no problem at all when hiding 1-3 drops in 1/2 jar peach flavored baby food. Eventually my son also took it in pear baby food, which I preferred as it isn't as phenolly as peach sauce. If you try a little yourself in the peach sauce, you'll be able to see. One of the two leading brands had a stronger peach taste which hid it better. Forget now which brand it was, as I can't use GSE on my son any more. Guest guest
We've always used orange juice to disguise the flavor, and it does pretty good. Good luck! Guest guest
Boy, I sure would like to know the answer to this as well! Also, I would like to know if anyone knows the benefits of using Evening Primrose Oil as well! Any input about these two subjects would be greatly appreciated to me too! > Hi so many people use GSE but I haven't seen anyone mention how discusting the bitterness is - my child just is so sensitive he gags and biffs straight away - now he sees me coming and its really hard to get the other supps into him I have to keep saying its not the yucky one - I desperately want to use this so far I have tried one drop in 10mls of pear juice, one drop mixed iin with his lime/lemon flavoured EFAs and I intend trying it in a little honey but I will experiement on myself first. Guest guest
Thanks Debbie - but why can't you use this on your son anymore? Terri NZ Re: GSE - How do you hide the taste???? Guest guest
Hi Terri, I put drops of GSE inside a small capsule and hide the capsule in the food like rice, oatmeal, banana or any puree. Guest guest
GSE? Guest guest
Hmmm my daughter never seems to notice the taste at all. I am surprised your child can taste one drop. Maybe try some stronger tasting juice that he can tolerate. Lemonade? Pineapple? > Hi so many people use GSE but I haven't seen anyone mention how discusting the bitterness is - my child just is so sensitive he gags and biffs straight away - now he sees me coming and its really hard to get the other supps into him I have to keep saying its not the yucky one - I desperately want to use this so far I have tried one drop in 10mls of pear juice, one drop mixed iin with his lime/lemon flavoured EFAs and I intend trying it in a little honey but I will experiement on myself first. Guest guest
Terri, I give my son GSE in a glass of warm water with some lemon juice and stevia (for sweetness), and call it " lemon tea " . This way he drinks it OK. Guest guest
you made me laugh! have you not tried a drop on your tongue? I have been trying to take and I really have to work myself up to it - its so intensley bitter and therefore it lingers in your mouth. Thanks for the hints. I will work on it. I guess this won't work if your child is not taking capsules. good luck, Rubby
Guest guest
My 3 yr old swallows capsules with the help of a pill shooter - I just use an empty capsule and put the GSE in it and down it goes!! Guest guest
The only way my son will take supplements is with a syringe. I squirt it in. I use to use grape juice. Now he takes anything. I have tried the pill shooter w/ certain supplements but have not had much success. With the syringe, I have the attitude, sorry but you are taking this and Jack seems to understand. Jack seems to know when I will not take no for an answer. He also seems to understand when I am not comfortable with something. I feel the supplements will help him so I give him everything with a positive attitude. " This is good for you. " He started early taking seizure meds at two and chelating since he was 4. I am sure I am very lucky with how well Jack takes his supplements but I also was never wishy washy about it. You can also try freezing grapejuice and putting a drop or two midway through the ice and before they realize it tastes terrible they forget about it. nne nne > My 3 yr old swallows capsules with the help of a pill shooter - I just use an empty capsule and put the GSE in it and down it goes!! > Karyn > > > > From: " s " <rat.richards@x...> > > Date: 2003/03/05 Wed PM 09:30:21 EST > > " Enzymes Autism " < >, > > " Autism Mercury " < > > > Subject: [ ] GSE - How do you hide the taste???? > > > > Hi so many people use GSE but I haven't seen anyone mention how discusting the bitterness is - my child just is so sensitive he gags and biffs straight away - now he sees me coming and its really hard to get the other supps into him I have to keep saying its not the yucky one - I desperately want to use this so far I have tried one drop in 10mls of pear juice, one drop mixed iin with his lime/lemon flavoured EFAs and I intend trying it in a little honey but I will experiement on myself first.
