It is the skin manifestation of celiac

http://www.celiac.com/index.html

Since the lining of the colon and the skin are continuous, can you

imagine what the lining of the colon looks like if the skin looks this

miserable.!!! Is it any wonder these kids have GI distress and fungus

overgrowth.

I never had official medical testing done for celiac, but because of

outward manifestations and the fact that they did not tolerate gluten

with enzymes until after round 28 or so, I believe they were

metal-induced celiac. They can have gluten now with enzymes, and in

fact my #4 can have gluten now without enzymes.

A cousin does. It was with the celiac disease suffered. Most likely if

someone has this they might also have celiac disease. As follows:

No. It appears to be much worse. My cousin had lesions and boils on the

skin.

He has a constant red rash, pussy sores on knees and elbows (he's 8 mths old)

they will bleed, his face will sometimes swell and at one time he acted as if he

felt fine no fever or anything, but his tongue swelled so that he coulden't

close his mouth. He didn't have trouble breathing tho.I thought that was pretty

strange. Is this anything like your cousin experiences?

Yes. But he also had open sores. He had a lot show up at his elbows and

buttocks. It wasn't excema it was much worse. He would swell and the skin

would break and it would pus and many times get infected. They tried all

sorts of medications but then it turned out it was part of him having celiac

disease. He also had diahrhea and wouldn't gain weight. He aspirated on

drinks and also suffered reflux from foods. Eventually only a diet helped and

it took awhile. He still has scars from where the skin broke and scabbed.

It took almost a complete year for him to recover and be back to normal. He

doesn't have autism so it took them longer to figure out what was wrong but

he suffers many of the same gastroentestinal allergy issues. And it took

awhile to connect the gastro issue with the skin issue.

This sounds more like an allergic reaction to me. Breathing trouble does not

always accompany an allergic reaction...
