Guest guest
This is a rather vague symptom that could be due to a number of different things. The fact that eating a small amount of food, the crackers, seems to help, points to some problems with your stomach, perhaps gastritis. You note that you have arthritis. If you're taking NSAIDs for this arthritis, you could have an ulcer. I would suggest you see your physician ASAP in order to find out what is going on. -- Aubrey MD, PSC 1981, Psoriatic Arthritis 1986, UC 1991, LTX 10/5/
Guest guest
> Crystal, I missed that post, please fill me in...do you know how it is tied to the gallbladder? My dr. kept telling me lipase was connected to pancreas and never mentioned gallbladder,HELP!Thanks!!! K OK, I went and refreshed my memory so I can fill you in. Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down fats, just like the bile released from the gallbladder. So there is a working relationship between the two. Elevated lipase is generally associated with pancreatitis (since that's where it comes from ), but that can be secondary to a problem with the gallbladder like inflammation, infection, stones, etc. In other words, a gallbladder problem can create a cascade of other issues, including elevated lipase. A CT scan is usually used to determine which, if any, organ is problematic. HTH! Crystal
