Guest guest
Thanks, I've been researching it quite a bit. I was scared that it was affecting my kidneys so I went to a walk-in clinic last night and found out I have a rampant UTI infection that has gone from my bladder to kidneys, thus the major back pain I've been having. Weird thing is, I didn't have ANY symptoms expect back pain and being tired so I just thought I was having a flair up. So I've been walking around like this for more than 3 weeks! And my Dr. didn't catch it when he diagnosed the impetigo which really bothers me to no end. I have spent years building a relationship with this man and he can't be bothered to do a urine test, when I told him I had mid/lower back pain, was exhausted etc. and he did nothing. I'm so frustrated. Thanks again Kaylene, Caitlin Here is a much better article about Impetigo. Guest guest
How did you finally get diagnosed with the problem? I passed a kidney stone on X-mas day. That was in Cincinnati on vacation. They have yet to run any test here because they say its not an emergency because I'm no longer in pain. No ultra sound, nothing. I don't know what to do. The state of our medical care is in crisis. Big time. I can't even get simple tests run anymore. I guess I'll just wait for the pain to come back if it is something serious. Caitlin I totally sympathize with you about the undiagnosed UTI thing. I was treated for back muscle spasms, and when that didn't work, they treated me for depression, and when that didn't work, I finally found a doc who ran a simple urine test, and from there, they did more tests. They then found that I had a double ureter with two separate entries into the bladder, and kidney stones, which resulted from two thin ureters instead of one normal one. Guest guest
If I had ever passed a kidney stone, I would be looking up everything I could about KIDNEY DISEASE. I bet that is what the doc is thinking, that you might have kidney disease and he is waiting for you to develop more problems before he steps in to help. He knows that antibiotics can cause other problems, so he will wait to see if you continue to form or pass more stones. There is no medicine that can prevent more stones, but there are herbal supplements that can help (like blue-green algae and cranberry capsules). Diet and lifestyle are key. Finding a doc who will run tests is also important. A urologist will run those tests. On Mon, Jan 5, 2009 at 12:16 PM, Caitlin Kennedy wrote: >> I passed a kidney stone on X-mas day.
