Hi , This is what works for me, also. If I want carbs, I have to work for them. LOL. Glad things are going okay for you. Congratulations on the weight loss. hugs Eunice

Guest guest
Leona, That is good news! I would also credit the Cipro with helping your body get all the little budding infections under control so you stop having such frequent cholangitis attacks. I think your GI misjudged how damaging the repetitive attacks were. and am glad that the value of taking the Cipro was recognized. It should make it easier to get next time you need it. I hope that will be a long time in the future. Tim R > ... My numbers are all normal - even my GGT which has been very high for ages. Said he just wanted to call and give me an early Christmas present. He agreed with me that taking the cipro when I did was a good idea. > Leona

Guest guest
Oh Janet, your views/comments mirror mine exactly. We all have to make choices in life and thanks for giving me that 'push' to help him through this. I know it's going to be 'tough love' but I really needed this and your experience on the BBD has been an inspiration. Fortunately he does love Quinoa but I still think he's got to get more protein into his body. Thank you again. I was vegetarian/vegan for many years and still only reluctantly eat meat on occasion but have switched to eating fish a few times a week. Once I'd read the reasons for not eating gluten, lactose and legumes etc. my take was, do I want to kill a fish or kill myself? Quinoa is the best vegetarian BBD grain as it contains so much protein (although some don't tolerate it and, as with almost everything, lectins lurk). Being on the BBD and being totally vegetarian is almost impossible as all the pulses and most of the grains are out. I resisted eliminating legumes (pulses, etc.) and was very surprised that I felt loads better for giving them all up. For years I had eaten " healthily " but now realise that my body didn't want tofu, tempeh, miso, soy, beans, vegetarian cheese, and bread, etc., etc. day after day. Being vegetarian was possibly the worst thing I could have been and kicking it wasn't easy but it is paying dividends (certainly to me, if not sadly to the fish population).
