Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven't posted lately I have been on the road again for work. I came home early because of the unsnow that was due to hit New England. is having his first ERCP on Monday. They said that because of the narrowing that appeared on the MRCP they want to try and open up the ducts a little. His procedure is being performed by Dr. E. Deal in Charlottte, NC. Dr. Deal is a partner of Dr. Purdum's who specializes in Pancreatic and Biliary Diseases. They said that would most likely stay overnight. I am nervous. I don't really know what to expect. Before we switched to the hep, his previous gastroenterologist said that if they did an ERCP they would try to do a brush biopsy of the enlarged lymph node near his liver. Has anyone else had an enlarged lymph node near the liver and had a brush biopsy done? We haven't actually talked to Dr. Deal so I don't know if he plans to do a brush biopsy. Do they typically take biopsies during an ERCP. If so do they also take biopsies inside of the bile ducts. Can they open up the bile ducts without putting in a stent?
