Guest guest
helen, jerry has the added " bonus prize " of gastroparesis, his stomach and intestines are paralyzed so that he only has 27% motility left.. he cannot take any narcotics -because the side effect is slowing of digestive tract and we cant afford that. Ultram is the only thing he can take.. aspirins would burn holes due to slow motility..thats the next and only thing hes allowed to have ..at first he was on Lortabs 500 and was eating them like water.. finally i yelled at doc.. said enough is enough this is no way to live the amounts kept increasing.. enougH!!!!!!!! obviously somethings wrong.. so we got to shands and were diagnosed!!!! so he first said ultram did nothing.. i guess so after all that lortab!!!!!!! but he went 2 weeks with out.. and now would die with out his ultram!!!!! no side effects we are aware of.. jerrys folks are from rossville.. i think its an hour outside of indianapolis.. ive never been to indiana.. so im lost at areas.. celeste and jerry
Guest guest
Celeste, I am sure that you two have been going thru such troubled times.I do have a suggestion.Since Jerry can no longer take drugs by mouth, can he have a Intrthecal Pain infusion pump? My Pain doc had suggested it for me as an alternative. It is for people who can no longer take the drugs by mouth.Just wanted to make sure that you new about this. I SURE DO HOPE THAT THINGS WILL STAART TO LOOK UP FOR YOU BOTH. B.
Guest guest
I'm so glad Ultram works for Jerry. Holy Cow, poor guy. And I'm glad he's off Lortab. All the doctors prescribe it so freely, then warn you about how addictive it can be.
Guest guest
Margaret, I am set to have my surface replacement on the 23rd of May as well but with Dr. Mont. What do you think about comparing your recovery with mine? Since we are having it done the same day, you in the UK and me in Baltimore, it should be interesting to see how we both get along and what each doctor recommends for recovery. Bill Re: Digest Number 265 ok all you surface hippy's. I am flying 5/21 and surgery with treacy 5/23. Does anybody have the secret word on how to actually get on aol and get messages. at the nuffiled actually sent someone to my room to set me up the very last day i was there so I know it can be done. Up until that time it cost me $300 to mess around with ireland where aol is and trying to get set up. anyway, please let me know the secret. also, does anyone know how to transfer favorite places and all my addresses to my lap top so I can fill you all in. I am staying at the westbournelodge just like some of you did. I am going to bring a vcr and some tapes because the owner feels it will be easy to connect up with their special plugs.? Love and pragers to all of you Margaret
