i had mycoplasma pneumoniae as part of my onset in 1987,

before we decided we hated saddam hussein. if you read

the literature, it was already suspected by thomas brown md,

and other visionaries, as causing systemic illness. i

was denied a cfids diagnosis because we found definite

mycoplasma pneumoniae- remember in the beginning, if you

had positive tests for anything else, it could not be cfids.

then later i got the chlamydia pneumoniae too, just like

nicholson says, you can pick up additional things as time

goes on.

my whole family at one point had mycoplasma, so did my

dog, and we were all on abx. together. everyone else

got over the worst of it, but i stayed sick, because

my immune system was already shot. (since i picked

up myco while pregnant, which is a th2 state, it

makes total sense that it was embedded in my body.)

can't blame myco totally on gulf, sorry!

Everything you want to know about mycoplasma fermentans incognito which

was derived from AIDS patients in the 80s be found at www.gulfwarvets

they do a pretty good job of explaining everything they even have a link

to the patent for it which a doc that works for the DOD holds.

www.shasta.com has some pretty good information, but none of it really

pertains to myco pneumoniae just myco fermentans which can only be

detected by a PCR blood test not your normal anti-bodies blood test

Re: " New Drug " for BVT

Steve,

Yes, it is available in an injectable form. It is made from dried bee venom

and it really isn't new. It is only approved in the USA for desensitization

of persons allegic to bee stings. Purists believe that some volatile

substances may be lost in the drying process.

Theresa,

PANDAS is an acronym for Pediatric autoimmune disorders associates with

strep. This disorder which affects children is caused by a certain strain

of strep virus.. Only children who have the gene d817 in their family can get

PANDAS from strep. It causes obsessive compulsive disorder and tics. Your

body mistakenly produces antibodies to fight the strep but they attack the

basal ganglia of the brain instead. Their is research going on at the

National Inst. Of Mental Health to do plasma exchange to cleanse the body of

the antibodies and then put the children on medication to keep them from

getting more strep exacerbations. It is still considered experimental and

very expensive. The first step in trying to find out if the child has PANDAS

is by getting their physician to do their strep titers if you suspect this is

where their ocd came from. My son's strep titers were over 1000 last year

without him showing physical signs (sore throat etc) of strep, . hope this

helps, I am no expert but I have tried desperately to find help for my son.

Thanks

Becky:

Did you read half of my post? I NEVER accused you or anyone else of

sitting on their butt!! And it certainly sounds like you get enough exercise

with all you have going on. And I never clearly advocated or did not

advocate exercise... I just reveiwed some possible pros and cons and I do

believe I acknowledged many of the cons you mentioned. Clearly, you can

not bring back something which has atrophied and I NEVER insinuated that you

could.... I guess there is no point in trying to post if people get offended

no matter what or how you say things.....

Please tell me what specifically I said that insinuated YOU or anyone else

with CMT was lazy or not trying to do the best they can....

atrophy/disuse, I answered as it relates to me. You talked of muscles and

nerves, that brought up nerves being damaged and not being able to build up

a muscle. Just because you know that doens't mean others reading it do, so

it was a good place to interject it in. And had you fully read MY post, you

would of seen that I again mentioned using CMT as a cop out, I think that is

just so unfair to say, that I mentioned it again in my post to you. So now

in some way I have offened you, and I'm not sure where or how! ~>Becky M.

Everyone needs to lighten up. We are all entightled to our own opinions and

should be able to say ANYTHING good or bad this is for all of us to vent! I

personally got a big laugh out of your comment and wasn't offended in

anyway. joi

dear jon ong,the stuff you are referrring to is called Saventaro, made by phytopharica. It is cat's claw.I have used it for immune stimulation for flu and colds with great success but I don't think it is a rarer form of Cat's Claw.I believe trhat Cat's Claw was one of the rainforest hopefuls for curing cancer and brought out for public use by a man who patented it as well as its name.So a rival product must have a d9ifferent name even if it is the saME.harvey

I have had a very strange complication from two different acid reflux

meds...but no others gave me this problem. I had HORRIBLE mood swings

from Prevacod and Protonix. I mean awful. No one guessed that was the

reason for two months until one day I just stopped taking it because it

wasn't helping my esophagus. And POOF...No more mood swings. I thought

I had gone around the large bend. Terrifying. WHen it happened with

Protonix, I knew what it was. THis is a rare side effect, but I hae

seen it discussed before in a site about bizarre reactions from

Prevacid. Funny, but with Nexium I had NO side effects. THey are all

different.

Hello--

One consideration might be, " whose problem is it? " If he wanted to play

ball over parental resistance, and then doesn't do well in some aspect, is

it reasonable for the parents to decide they should solve his problem for

him? Or would it be better to take a position of, " I have confidence in

you. "

Thanks,

Gene

Hi Fred,

I understand what you are saying -- in this case, though the

parents are not pushing anything -- if anything they resisted this

little guy playing football. This little guy has wanted to play

football for several years. It was really big deal to this little guy

(who actually isn't so little -- 4'2'' and 82 lbs. ) to finally get to play

this year -- after a lot of family discussion opposing his playing.

The one thing about this little guy is that he tends to be irritable

and easily frustrated -- but when he has rigorous exercise his

self control is better and he has some patience. Anyway, thanks

for your input, but in this case -- the parents would be absolultely

fine if he didn't play football.

Thanks again,

Hi,

I lurk more than I write but I need some information from the group and

possibly some suggestions.

I had a laminectimy and fusion of c5-6 c6-7 with plating and donor disc's this

Aug. 12. After the surgery, I have had more pain than I had prior to it. The

neuro agreed with my local doc that I needed continued pain mgmt. (and this doc

does not even believe in pain meds after surgery... in general.)

I have taken increasing doses of Dilaudid since the surgery and am now on the

Duragesic patch and break through Dilaudid at hand.

I had an MRI 2 weeks ago and X-Ray's 3 days ago. The radiology report from

the MRI states, " There is some increased T2 signal and enhancement in the marrow

of the c5, c6 & C7 vertebral bodies. This may be non-specific but is also seen

in the setting of vertebral body infection. "

My question is, could I be rejecting the donor disc's? Has anyone else had

this type of infection and what was the outcome?

Hugs & Warm Fuzzies,

Deborah aka Tenacity

We are also interested in water filtration systems. Reverse osmosis is

pretty inexpensive to set up, slow, and removes the good minerals along with

the not so good contaminants. Pi-water systems sound amazing, are much more

expensive, and make claims to replace and enhance valuable minerals, ionic

content, etc, while removing contaminants. Anyone familiar with this, and

other systems?
