Guest guest
Just returned from Dr. De Smet (Belgium)for my 6 wk BHR check-up. Everything seams OK: - x-rays looked just fine, good position, no sign of loosening or Heterotopic Ossification (I used 700 rad radiation pre-op and 3 wks on Indocid post-op) - sleeping on unoperated side from 1e wk post-op, and operated side from 4e wk post-op - walking without crutches/canes from 4 wks post-op - starting two times a week PT with full weight bearing from 1 wk post-op (didn't do home exercises - to avoid overdoing things) the physio-therapist, not familiar with BHR, haven't ever seen such a quick recovery and - driving car from 5 wks post-op (long distance driving no problem) So till now, I'm very pleased with the day-to-day progress. The only worries or things to work on are - occasionally noise when moving leg (see other mail to /Arlene) - rebuilding muscle strength and stretching muscle length - due long time inactivity of leg Now, I'm looking forward to get my other right side to be done begin september.
