Cell phones are supposed to be turned OFF in our comm center. There is a

sign posted right outside the door. It interferes with the radios.....(and the

work performance of some......)..

So....... I'll give you one guess if cell phones are on in my center.

we have a policy prohibiting it. The nextels (the worst) interfere

with the radio system. (They create an annoying " clicking " that

overrides the dispatcher). If the dispatcher is in the back of the

room, they are usually far enough away not to interfere and I doubt

it's severely enforced.

Management offers a non-taped (not for business use) phone so we

don't have to tape someone telling Pookie they'll be home later, or

little Timmy that he can't stay up to watch Leno.
