Guest guest
Hello, I remember years ago when my doctor and I had a discussion on walking for me. He said walk only when you aren't experiencing hot spots in the joints. When I would have a flare the joints would feel hot to the touch, and naturally hurt far worse. He said if I walked when that was happening it would do permanent damage to the joints. He said wait until the heat and swelling had subsided then walk. It worked for me. Guest guest
Ardie and Barb, My problem is there is NEVER a time when I don't have hot spots. Therefore, I go where I need to go, do what I need to do, and have learned to live with dust bunnies under the furniture. Today, because the weather is so sunny and hot (triple digits again), and I had to be out running to insurance companies, motor vehicles offices, etc. during normal business hours, I now have several new sun related lesions. I am NOT a happy camper, but you do what you gotta do. As for regular exercise...what's that? I used to walk two miles every morning, swim for half an hour, and then go to work. Camping and hiking on weekends with my kids, etc. Now, I'm lucky if I make it down the hall to wake them up for school in the mornings, and school starts again next week. I am looking forward to it, though, because I get so many hours of quiet when they are in school. My friend, , always sings (to the tune of Thank God and Greyhound She's Gone), "Thank God and the school bus, they're gone." LOL Love and Hugs, MM
